Another new one! Picked up yesterday and 150 miles in all is good. Even taking it really gently and being kind to the engine I'm really surprised at how quick it is. Can't wait to get some more miles on it and loosen up... Hopefully there will be some track action in the summer. One thing I'm really pleased with is that I went with the 'lounge leather' seats. They seem much more substantial than the punch leather seats that I test drove.

All in really chuffed!

What's the difference between Punch leather and Lounge leather? Anyone got any pics?

Look on the mini website configurer. basically the punched leather is a leather covered version of the standard seat. It looks OK, but on the car that I tested (500 miles on it) it was already starting to wrinkle and rough up. It looked 'sporty' but you tell it was going to wear and go saggy. The lounge longe leather seats are totally different, they seem much higher backed, much much much better quality and are dead good to use. I'd go for them every time. Also, having seem the JCW seats they are much nicer than them. The JCW seats look to dog danglies out of the car but to my mind are too big in it and kind of look silly.

I'll try and take some pics of mine tomorrow when the light is better and post them. They also go vv well with a white car and they ae black with white piping...

That's almost exactly the spec I want - only no bonnet stripes and half leather.

Looks great

For those intersted these are the lounge leather seats. I think they suit the car well... But I would!!! The pics are not that good...

Certainly better than the standard half leather or punch leather and comfy!

Twit,

I started life looking for a sub 10k mcs as a runabout but ended up ordereing new mcs for march 1st delivery.

Spec looks pretty close to your car:

Pepper white with black lounge leather.

But I had to order the piano black trim? Yet looking at yours you have the brushed ali?

Also I am now unsure wether to fit the jcw earo kit?? Woukd you on a PW car?

This car has been a nightmare to order - too many options - dealer must hate me now.

Yeah, mine is brushed ali. I do think pinao black looks OK but prefered the ali, I just said I wanted it and the dealer played with the spec. Seems good as my worry with piano black was the interior would go too dark. For the same reason I stuck with the standard headlining, its lighter than the option - I would definetly recommend that unless you go for the glass roof! That was an option too much for me...

As for the Aero kit, I'm split... I like the front, I dont mind the sideskirts but I really don't like the back. I think it would look Ok and the car shown on here looks good! I guess you pay your money and make your choice!

Options on minis are a nighmare, I've never known a car like it! It does mean its pretty rare that there are two cars exactly the same but you can easily add 7-10K onto the price of the car if you go mad. For me the essentials were chilli pack, decent seats and sports suspension.

Don't know what you are doing stereo wise but if its of use I find the standard Boost fine. I've had to play with the settings to get the sound right but its fine now. There is an AUX jack as standard so you can run an Ipod through the standard system, you dont need the Ipod dock. If you use the AUX the one thing to watch is that there is an internal volume control! You need to set this to 6 (maximum) on the menu and then you can run the Ipod etc at normal volumne. Sound quality is good!

@baskey

I like those pics and that's the dilema, I think the kit makes the car look better. Shouldn't say this but I think the mk1 mcs looks better than the mk2, hoping its just that I havnt seen many mk2s on the road or in the flesh. The kit makes it look a bit more sporty.

@ twit

I'm glad I'm not the only one who thinks options list is massive. Agree front of kit looks good, sides I actually like but rear not too sure.

What are the general comments from people when they see your car in the flesh.

Thanks for the interior tips, went for sunroof and std headliner, 10 speaker upgrade, vis pack, chilli pack, lounge leather, spotlights, chilli pack (prefer the mk1 look minilights / crown spokes) but seeing the white cars posted here I think they now look good.

Tried to add LSD last week but was told too late and car was in build.

Only problem now is wether to fit the kit and add either bonnet stripes or viper stripes, or viper stripes with a thin pin stripe on the outside.

God its tough,

Second hand one would have been a whole heap easier

I'm having the same kind of spec dilemma!

There are over 8,000 colour/roof/interior options and that's before you look at the options list...

At the moment I want....
Cooper S
Pepper white with black roof
Chili pack
Sports suspension
MFSW
Auto air
Crown spoke alloys

Plan B is
Red with black roof
Black/red 1/2 leather
Red colour line
Piano black interior surfaces

Plan C is
Laser blue with black roof
Black/blue 1/2 leather
Blue colour line

Plan D is
Drop the Chili pack to save some cash
Base spec with manual a/c and MFSW

Plan E is
Tasteless accoding to the other half.....
BRG with white roof
Black/cream 1/2 leather
Cream colour line
English oak dash

Aaargh!!

I really like the cream 1/2 leather seats but they don't go with most exterior colours, although the classic BRG is appealing more and more, but then I end up asking myself why I should pay extra for metallic when I like the red and white just as much!

Just don't pick up an accessories catalogue....!

Hahahaha - too late already thumbed through it.

I liked the cream half leather and also cream colour line just wasn't sure on durabilty of the cream after a year or so.

But do agree cream looks good.

I think had metalic paint been nco then I would have gone for lightning blue but as I couldn't make up my mind the extra £300 odd did it for me.

Not seen a bad colour combo yet so I'm sure whatever you spec will be good. Not as if you have have red with green roof etc ...

I have - I work next door to the factory and can see all the possible combinations from my office window!

Yellow is bad, full stop. I'm not a fan of black with a white roof either but the rest are pretty good really.
