Mirror cap rattles.

The nearside chrome mirror cap rattles on my wife's Mini Cooper. Is there any way that the mirror cap can be made to fit more tightly, or could I perhaps glue it on?

Gently pop the mirror glass out-dont over force or it will crack,but with gentle levering(get your fingers behind glass as close to middle as you can) it will pop off.If you dont then dont as it will end in tears-just pop to a stealer they will pop it off for you-takes milli seconds.To get back on just line up the clips and push.
Once off you will see 4 tabs which you prise apart and push the cover off-I then tend to use a thin layer of double sided number plate tape around the edge of the cover,so when you put it back on in sticks to the mirror body.
I've only done this a few hundred times,never had one back since.
