Hi
Just a warning for all Mini owners that send there car in to a BMW Dealer!

Last friday my Neighbour sent her car in to have a standard oil change and check over! She drove the car for 300 miles during the week and as she came home I was outside working on my runabout and heard her car running sick. I discovered she just had the oil changed and i had to tell her the cars oil had run out of the engine and coated the underside and rear window, but not only that it had near ran dry of oil and the car was running on 3 cylinders and the top end was very noisy.

Bless her! she couldnt hear the motor because as she was driving on the motorway the radio automatically turned itself up! also the oil light didnt come on! but there was no oil on the dipstick! this is twice this has happened in my road, the first mini's neighbour was a year ago and i had to help her out too! but the car didnt get to this state.

So if you live near Hook or any other area keep an eye on on you oil after a main dealer service! either they are getting it wrong or they have a fault in the filters and havent rectified this problem.

Saturday! the neighbours got the car back this morning and i thought it was to fast for it to be back and so i thought OK they did the repairs!Good! But No the devil in me had go down and inspect the car! The car was still caked in oil and no work was carried out on the engine! so i told the neighbour come with me to take the car back! I ask to inspect it on the ramp and the oild was still coming out of filter!

Bmw service! you are a shambles. this is one hell of a way to look after my customers!

That's strange, I know somebody else with a Bini cooper S which 'suddenly' ran out of oil and lunched the engine without the warning light coming on. The source of the oil leak was never found - the level had been checked regularly and was fine the week before, and there was no external sign of an oil leak.
