Spots on MINI2

A new arrival tomorrow in our household Oxygen Blue Mini One with Viper stripes! Just needs some spots I think! I've decided that spent enough at the dealer so have found set at MiniSport. Can't be that hard to fit? - seen instructions on the MINI2 forum - but why is a new grille required?
Is the spot kit for the Mk1 same as Mk2?
Any advise appreciated - cheers

The spot lamps are different for 1st gen and 2nd gen cars. I'm not aware of any after market sets for the R56 yet, but as you say there are plenty for the R50/53 models.

Maybe put up a post on MINI2 in the 2nd gen section and ask about after market sets. This section of PH can be rather slow at times, as there doesn't seem to be many MINI owners on here.

Not sure why a new grille is required either, must be something to do with the way they attach to the front grille?

The minisport kits are for the early model, if you can hack into the electrics you might be able to run some but i wouldnt fancy doing that myself on a brand new car
