offsets

a 17" MINI wheel is a 100x4 with an offset ET 48 right?
i think s-spokes are et50.. so are my bullets et48 or et50?

how far away from the std offset is it wise to go..?
i quite like those speedline turini with an et42 (for a clio)...!
