Hi all
I was in a dealers today trying to get hold of a mini GP but one I got there it was sold anyways when I was in the dealer told me not to worry if I couldnt get hold of one because a new one is coming out in July this year. Anyone know anything about this? As I cant seem to find out anything on the net. My other question is to the owners of GP's at the moment what are they like and any probs that they know with them.

Thanks

Go somewhere where they know what they are talking about!

All New (R56) Cooper S's are turbos, the model the dealer is talking about is the John Cooper Works mini which has a few new toys etc on. The old supercharged GP was an end of line run out model - the ultimate supercharged S, I doubt there will be a R56 based GP until its about to be replaced with an updated version.

There are a few GP's for sale out there, i'm sure there are some on PH classified.

For more information, the best website is probably mini2.com
There is a specific area for GPs with tips on what to look for, and a list of most of the 2000 cars whereabouts.

Personally I wouldnt worry about a BM supplied car, even private cars should have the balance of 3 year warranty and 5 year tlc. As the last of the supercharged cars, they are well sorted and put together. Check for leaky steering pumps, poor paint on front lower spoiler & sticking 1st gear, all fixed under warranty.

The GP is a hugely fun, agile car. Wheezing from the supercharger and popping from exhaust keeps me smiling, even on the Tesco run. Yep the spoiler & red mirrors are 'questionable', but its function over form. BM designed it to be the ultimate mini, with emphasis on driving, rather than looks. It will embarrass a surprising number of supposedly superior cars on track.

No mineis the ultimate supercharged S LOL

Yeah will be the turbo factory works they were on about, the current retrofit JCW kit on the turbo is pap in my opinion
