for what it'd cost you don't bother. If it was a cooper S you'd be able to easily squeeze more out, but with the standard cooper you'll be wasting your money as any gains will be minimal. If you want more power save up and buy a cooper S smile

Agree with Stu. The gearbox on the cooper is a well know weak point and can only handle 130 bhp. You will not see much of an increase from a remap.

Did you do a before and after on a rolling road? The standard ECU is so good at mapping I would be amazed if you got more than 10bhp and even then they would have advanced the curve so much you engine would be at risk of pinking. Having said that, if your engine map was running incorrectly in the first place you would have experienced a big improvement. There have been quite a few problems on mini2 forum re maps causing engines to lean out and burn pistons.

The car will feel very different afterwards but this is because they make the map more lively. Ie the existing map is very smooth so that you do not yow yow in traffic. The remap will increase the throttle response making te car feel faster.

What I did with my 02 reg cooper was:

Cotton Green Induction Kit with 2 cold air feeds running on to it.

Play Mini Exhaust system.

Also, get rid of run flats, fit Toyo Proxies T1R, Koni Suspension 40mm Drop, and EBC Greenstuffs!

Absolutely loved my old cooper and the playmini exhaust when warmed up sounds absolutely brilliant!!!!!!!!
