So yesterday i took the mini down to Charlie at Surrey Rolling Road to find out how many BHP it's currently got.

Current modifications are 17% pulley, K&N panel and a janspeed cat-back.

It made 208.9bhp and 180ftlbs woohoo
The best bit is the fact the BHP keeps rising to the redline and levels out about 100rpm before

And once the manifold, intercooler, bigger injectors, cooler spark plugs and air intake turn up i'll be back down there

I'll post the graphs up later once i've scanned it in.

I think Hartge maxed it's MINI out at 280 BHP.

Also some bloke put an S54 engine in an R50 shell.

There's higher BHP minis than the hartge one, the customer hartge kit was only a claimed 210bhp that was nearer 190 like the JCWs

There's a few quick M45 minis, but the really quick ones have changed to turbos

Had my Hartge MINI dyno'd at 1320 autos last year & it made 210bhp (fly wheel), was well pleased with that. Roland at GT Tuning has built a couple of turbo conversions with well over 350bhp, must be real flying machines.

I still prefer the R53MN to the R56MN. Supercharger for me over a turbo.

Nice one Silent1.

Never did get to find out what mine was - perhaps I should pop up there and get it checked and add the printout to the advert if its any good. Someone might buy it then frown.

Cool, for some reason i thought the Hartge suffered the same problem as the JCW

yes The R56 looks fat with it's bigger plastic bits and integrated sidelight

WOW, who RR'd it?

I can't beleive it's just a 15% pulley either, so what other mods?

That was on 1320`s rollers but will be having it done at an independant afterwards to make sure.

When it made 261

Alta 15% pulley
Janspeed manifold with sports cat
GRS intercooler
RMW head
1320 Cam
380cc injectors
Works airbox
Works NGK plugs
