Mini window software fault.

Our 08 Mini has just had its first problem.

When you closed the driver’s door window it would go up to the fully closed position, then back down to about 6” from closed. Every time you closed it, back down it went. After many attempts it would stay up.

It turns out that there is a software problem. Mini knows about this and they upgrade the software. The saleswoman who sold us the car was there and mentioned the same fault had happened to her company car. It may be that they do this at service, but our car hasn’t needed its first service yet.

Not being able to secure the car, or rain getting in can be a problem. The fault came on suddenly and without warning.

I would advise everyone with a similar car to ask if they need this software update and get it done when they next go in for service. It didn't take long.

Don't be surprised if this only fixes it for a short period time, as a number of these are being reported at the moment:

PUMA from MINI - they are to inspect the car, programme it in the new way, and then in theory tell the customer it 'may' fix it, but that if the customer experiences 'one of the window problems' again, then unfortunatly at the moment, there is no fix.

So keep an eye on it

I've had this happen once - but the window went straight back up and stayed there - fingers crossed it doesn't become a regular problem as the dealer I bought the car from has closed and the next nearest is miles away.............................

Mine does this *loads* - will be going in for a service soon so will have it sorted then.

There is a temporary fix but they are working on a fix which should 100% cure it but its taking time from what ive heard
