R53 Cooper CVT Problems?
Discussion
My Mother has a 2002/52 Cooper CVT.
It is coming up to 60k miles, but is no longer under MINI warranty. I have heard some rumours about problems with the gearboxes as time wears on, but we haven't experienced these.
It is sometimes slow to select both D and Reverse, but she cannot recall it getting any worse than it was to begin with.
Ought we to be worried or not? The car rarely goes over 50mph, is used 5 days a week for a 30 mile round trip on primarily 30/40 limited roads.
Thanks in advance...
Edit: Title should read R52... R53 is the Cooper S I know...
