Has it got runflat tyres? If so, dump them. The ride comfort will improve beyond recognition. Everybody wins
This will make all the difference - the ride quality with the runflats used to make me think about selling mine too. Standard rubber made it much more bearable - I can't recommend it highly enough. The ride, grip and tendancy to tramline have all improved massively. However, the fact is that a car of the MINI's nature, particularly one with 17 inch wheels and Sports Suspension Plus, is never going to ride like an S-Class; nor would I want it to.
If you're already running standard tyres and your wife still finds to ride too firm, you could always try some 16s with higher profile tyres. Beyond that, this could get expensive for you...

My JCW has runflats! Makes it really bumpy. Ive just been given a 2009 reg mini one and my goodness its a smooth drive in comparison!
Wifes friend has a 2009 mini one also, so i know that comparison, Just ordered some new normal yokohamas so I hope that makes the difference, at £600 it better ! blackcab said:

£600? Where did you get them from? I bought a set of Yoko Parada Spec 2's for £320 for 4.
The tyres were £400 ish, they are A048 I also bought a spare set of rims to put the existing tyres on so they are swapping them over as well, I had a look at the spec 2 but you got to just love thay tyre pattern on the A048blackcab said:

Bought the wife an 06 cooper s works about 4 weeks ago, seems she is not that keen on it, mainly due to ride quality, she still wants a mini but a comfy one !
Bloody women, cant live with them, cant shoot 'em
Get her a cushion for her @rse and tell her see either puts up with it or sells it. Bloody women, cant live with them, cant shoot 'em

I am currently running an R53 with runflats and find no problem with the ride quality. Mind you my other car is an DC2 ITR, the MINI is my idea of comfy compared to that.
