Has anyone any experience retro-fitting a bluetooth kit to a mk1 mini cooper S (2005, non-sat nav model)? - ideally i'm not looking to replace the head unit but will do with another mini unit if it is essential.

cheers

I think that might not be possible as the wiring loom and the software might need some programming.

interested in this too. Would like to run BOTH my 6-stack cd changer AS WELL AS an aux for my iphone. Has anyone attempted to fit an 'Intravee II'?

I fitted a Parrot CK3000 Evolution several years ago to go with the Boost single CD head unit, which also has a Dension Ice Link iPod interface fitted. Both items were plug & play and work fine with each other.

The only slight complication I had when fitting it was finding somewhere to put all the wires, as they won't all fit directly behind the head unit. Luckily they were long enough to fit neatly behind the fold-down dash panel below the steering column, which is also where I sited the bluetooth module. You'll need access to this module if ever you need to reflash it in the future.

Go with parrot as it works very well with the mini ~ New mini stuff has all the adapters for the mini and can even be linked the steering wheel if you have the phone buttons

I fitted this one

I liked the wireless control and bought an adaptor lead to get the iso connectors from the mini radio connector. Fitted the control box underneath the dash and you do need to fiddle with the wiring a bit.

No need to program anything on the car it just works. Also streams music from my IPhone 3GS with no problem. I used sticky pads to mount the remote on the dash top to the right of the steering wheel.
