I bought the car off a friend recently as she was going to trade it in for a silly price,we've used it for a month now and its been faultless,I think i may have over filled the boot when we took it away for a long weekend and now when i try to lower the roof it opens on the sunroof setting but wont engage the roof lowering stage and the red light near the button flash's?i've had a look in the boot and cant see anything loose. Is there a quick check list i could do as i dont want to pay out for a pro to look at it if it could be something simple?Typicaly my friends mum was interested in buying it off me and now i'm worried i look like i was trying to sell her dodgey car.any help would be appreciated cheers -jamie

I have had this on other car but not on a mini. I would get a torch and give it one more look. Paper is what was doing it last time for my. Good luck

Very simple, the parcel shelf has a switch on the passenger side, your parcel shelf is probably not sitting against it

As you look to the left in the boot you will see a small switch about 1ft up from the boot on the panel with the light cluster on. just make sure the shelf is in the correct place and it will be sorted. I have seen many convertibles like this, they bring it to me as a problem and I set the parcel shelf straight and it works.
