Well, it was going to say Iche Da as the title, but I don't actually know how to spell it. My spelling tends to be from the left bank of the Atlantic anyway...

I spotted my first pair of Gilberns at Ron Harper's shop in Middlesbrough about ten years ago; about five years ago I took the plunge and bought one, a Mark 3 Invader that had been standing for almost a decade. It was a lot of fun, but after driving it a year, I took it to to see Phil Ivimey, who gave it a thorough inspection, and pointed out the remarkable lack of chassis tubes...

I now have another Mark 3; I am hopeful that this one is more solid!

As of last night, I have acquired a GT as well, so I am set for a summer's worth of motoring adventure, just a bit of sorting and recommissioning to do first.

If, by chance you are unfamiliar with the marque, I would like to direct you to the excellent site maintained by Paul Clark of the Gilbern Owners Club. The address is www.gilbernoc.co.uk

Enjoy!

Thanks for the info about this site, saw your note on our GOC guestbook, i,ve been asking for a similar forum page in our own club website for some time. This might be a step nearer after seeing how good this site is as an example. I've got the Mk 2 Invader with walnut dash.... how's yours going at the moment got any pics?

Ah, I see what you mean - I had an extra full stop (punctuation for the sentence) which attached itself to the URL in the link. Sorry about that!

Good to see that Gilbern is represented on Pistonheads. I enjoyed my ownership and still work on a number of cars. Lets get some more comments and views on this forum. The National Day is going to be held in Somerset this year so watch for details and if you don' know the make come along and see the best in the country.

Ahh cool car, got a few pic's of that one - not seen one in yellow before.
Will get the pics online, when I remember which PC/hard drive they are on.

If you want one of these cars then there are always several advertised through the Gilbern Owners Club. This club provides a monthly news letter called the RAREBIT which sometimes features a few cars for sale. Good luck!
