Cars'n'Coffee......
Discussion
This meet has been running for a good few years now and it happens without the need for me to 'organise it '
Everyone arrives when they like, chat, kick tyres and eat bacon rolls and leave when they like. It's a very relaxed and informal meet, plus there's plenty of great roads in the area.
It's well worth a visit.
Hope you can make it.

Just had a letter from Northants Police...the local busybodies clocked me at an alleged 36mph...which either means they clocked me outside or right on the edge of the 30-limit, or they weren't using it properly (front of my car is very slopey).
Either way it's wound me up - I slow down for 30s and they're taking the p there as I know I wasn't doing 36...

I wonder if that would stand up in court. Presumably police equipment has to be officially calibrated and tested. If Joe Busybody buys something cheap off eBay and claims it clocked you at 36mph, how can he prove it's accurate?Either way it's wound me up - I slow down for 30s and they're taking the p there as I know I wasn't doing 36...

It's just a warning letter as opposed to an FPN?Either way it's wound me up - I slow down for 30s and they're taking the p there as I know I wasn't doing 36...

If I know Evenley well enough, it will be the old boys of the Neighbourhood watch with their speed gun, sending information to the local police. Happened in the past and the police cannot legally do anything about it but issue warnings. Or so I was told. Heard about it when I made the mistake of going to my village's Annual Parish Meeting (I was sure the P in APM meant pub...).Quartz Cutter said:

Not sure what further action they can take on the basis of (potentially unreliable) info from someone not authorised or potentially fully-trained (signed-off?) in use of the device, but it's the officious tone of the whole thing that riles...
