Just turn up and run, and start where you like. No noses should be put out of joint, and if there are, they are s.
Pretty poor attitude. It's common courtesy to start in an approximate speed order. It even states that on the parkrun website. Direct quite from the site

Whether you’re young or old, male or female, fit or unfit, able-bodied or not, you’re always welcome. It’s not about racing, it’s about running."
Please link to the parkrun site where it says Parkruns should be seeded.
Which is your home parkrun?

parkrun Germany is apparently a thing now. Not yet sure if they a discussion with parkrun.de or it's a new venture.

If it's all about running then why bother timing the runners ?Direct quite from the site

Down here they have signs up for sub 20 sub 30 sub 40 otherwise it's chaos if you have people doing a 30 min run in front of those who do it under 20.

"Please think carefully about where you will start from; if you are likely to complete the run quicker than 19 minutes make sure you're at the front. If you're likely to take longer than 30 minutes please start further back - this is for everybody's safety."

That's good, thank you. It's a halfway house. It's not seeding, but I guess a line was drawn at 30 mins as a 'slow' time.https://support.parkrun.com/hc/en-us/articles/2005...
Back home after an excellent weekend at the parkrun conference with KTF (and 170 other ambassadors, staff etc) - met Chrissie Wellington, Dave Moorcroft and Bruce Fordyce as well as so many of the (extra-)ordinary volunteers and staff who lead parkrun.
We also 'ran' (ie struggled up the hill) at Tring on Saturday morning! Having done a PB 22.20 last week at Worthing which is as flat as a flat thing on Flatsday, this week was a PW of just sub 30 . Too much red wine, not enough sleep, a very hot day and a chuffing huge hill. Might have to go back and give it a proper go one day.
Good weekend though!
(Sorry KTF, didn't see you afterwards to say goodbye, hope you had a good journey in the Ferrari and the butler had your slippers and a cold beer ready for you when you got home.)

I tried to find you at the end (as well as a few others) but it seemed to thin out quite quickly
Was an interesting event and a great venue. A lot of people were walking around with the parkrun book getting autographs from all the staff and it would never even have occurred to be to do that. Interesting that in some peoples eyes they are seen as a 'celebrity' and were genuinely in awe of being close to PSH.
I was speaking to Glen on Saturday night as he was involved in the design of Tring. He said the task was to make it 'interesting' as all the other events in the area are on cycle paths, etc. so its safe to say that they have achieved that. He also said that in the winter time people have to crawl up the hill on their hands and knees as it gets that bad
Aside from the top of the M3 being closed (I forgot they did that at the weekend), the journey home in the red car was uneventful I passed on the beer when I got in though as after the amount of drinking over the weekend I needed to dry out

Yes! Land use approval for our proposed junior parkrun. Got the nod at a town council meeting last night. I had to put a pretty thorough proposal through in the end, so if anyone is thinking of starting one up and needs to submit a formal document, I'll happily share what I delivered.
Thanks to those on here who offered advice - it was much appreciated.

Many in my club run the local Junior Parkrun. As there's a local half marathon on this Sunday I've volunteered to help out at the Junior PR whilst the others run their race.
I went down last weekend and it's a really impressive event. Some incredibly fast runners but also some really great kids just trying their best to run the full course.

Until I helped get our sister junior event going (and subsequently visited mine with the ambassador hat on) I had never been to a junior but they are great.
It's not the kids at the front but the younger ones running around clutching their barcodes who stop to walk when they think their parents are not looking (and start again when they realise they are) that get me.
The atmosphere is very different to a 5k. You don't see many adults burst into tears when they cross the finish

Just started getting involved in the Parkruns and what a fantastic event. The GF is just starting running and found they have been a great way for her to get used to races, good courses and a real family feel event. We have run the Bracknell & Newbury courses so far and look forward to many more in the future.
