Wow, so they do it all the time with 4?

I'm sure there's a parkrun in Namibia where the fastest guy takes a cone, runs 2.5k, drops it, turns around and runs back. Tailwalker/last runner grabs the cone, brings it home! Efficiency.

It was the week a new one started in Paris so a few of their regulars had gone there. We discovered afterwards there'd been even less people at the other Bordeaux on the same weekend. I could have finished in 3rd! biggrin

Having said that it seems they only had 12 last week, and it's been running for nearly 3 years

It's sad when some don't the numbers.

The only event near me that's still likely to be on tomorrow have declared they'll remove any PBs that appear in the results to keep speeds slow.

If they are doing that it would suggest that it’s still slippy underfoot and should cancel it.

The hard core runners would do parkrun even if their legs had fallen off but the majority parkrun audience with their road shoes won’t see the funny side if they slip and twist or strain something.

It's cancelled now, making 100% of the West Midlands events down and out.

Yeah, I was pretty annoyed actually, I checked Saints website at 8:30 and left, but it was cancelled. Widnes wasn't, I could have got to that one if Saints had updated their website.

I cancelled mine yesterday morning. I can see why some events leave it until the day to cancel but that can annoy people who make the journey, like yourself, only to find it was cancelled at the last minute.

Plenty snow underfoot at Aviemore this morning, not a massive turnout... As you'd expect.

We've been posting during the week to warn people that we might cancel, it was looking more hopeful last night because it warmed up so we did a recce at 0730 but it was too icy. Despite us posting everywhere about 35 still turned up, meanwhile we went to Bevendean, off road, grass, which was invigorating!

Lowest UK turnout since March 2013 - that may have been a snow day as well.

parkrun didn't go as expected this morning...

Friend and I had finished and were jogging over to the cafe for a coffee when I clocked a dog jumping into the lake in the middle of the park. Owner of the dog, with another dog on a lead and her young son on a bike, goes over to coax the dog back in, and next thing we know the kid has ridden straight into the water!

Mother is in a flap and unsure who to rescue first. Kid is crying and flailing. Dog is still in the water and barking, whilst the other dog on the lead has run off somewhere into the park... I dash over and help the mother pull the kid out of the water, then coax the dog out and then retrieve the bike. Kid is cold, crying and coughing up water, but otherwise OK. Friend comes back with one of the dogs that escaped, only to find the other one then ran off and had to also be retrieved!

I walk the mother, son and one of the dogs over to the park's welcome centre, where a passerby had already informed them of the need for first aid, some towels and space blankets. Jobsworth site manager tells me I can't take the dog in, despite the mother's distressed situation, so end up having to tie him up outside. Friend comes back with the other dog but lets him go prematurely, so we have to chase after him all over again... Not sure which was more exhausting this morning - the parkrun or chasing after the dogs?!

yikes cybertronian

Not the best prep for a park run but pleased that you got involved and helped the situation

Well done Cybertronian smile It sounds like a comedy script with the dogs running off, but obviously could have been serious is someone hadn't helped.

My run was much less eventful, ran a reasonable time given that I haven't trained for a few weeks, then spent the evening fixing results because one of the scanners thought it didn't matter if he scanned athlete/position or position/athlete!

Easier to fix if he did them all wrong, but they were mostly A/P with a few P/A here and there!
