Getting on there is now my new target smile

Two fastest times set at my home park run as well, so no excuses!

Edited to add that I've just noticed that I've already made the age graded top 500 - excellent!!

Far to many young speedy whippersnappers at our parkrun for an old puffer like me to remain in the top 500, now in the 900'ds for the age category as well,
Still I'll be able to gloat after three more runs when I achieve my 250 and get my green top … Yea smile….

Thanks. Just checked mine, it's under 20 minutes, no hope in hell for me.
If there was one for 200lbs+, I'd be in it. biggrin

17:50 to definitely get on to my local event's fastest 500! It was 18:25 or so around 2 years ago when I thought I'd be in with a shout of it.

17:50 is position 500? It must be a very quick course if thats the entry level.

17:50 to definitely get on the leaderboard. 17:51 is the bare minimum, though I'm unsure how it slots into those on the leaderboard who already have 17:51. I suspect it would slot in at the bottom, much like how Strava treats equalling a segment record.

Combination of age of event (8 years), large field attracting strong athletes (700 typical), and reasonably quick course (though, used to be flatter and quicker).

Need to find 15 seconds to get on my local top 500!

A guy in my running club has just done his 493'rd Parkrun last weekend, his 500th is going to be great to be part of smile

Over 22 minutes for top 500 at my preferred parkrun, benefits of a quiet venue. 18:38 at the one closer to home.

16:51 to be top 500 at Bushy Park.... and 15:59 is only good enough for 160th place!!

20:52 at my local Maidenhead and 20:53 at Upton Court in Slough and 18:46 at Black Park in Slough

I did Ludlow and just checked and that is 24:23, but it's a tough course, so I would say thats worth a 22:40

Just checked my regular PR, only need 29.36 to get in the top 500! So that's the next target after I achieve 30 minutes (hopefully in next few weeks!) Don't forget I only started running this year at 57YO smile

One of the very few benefits of living here I guess. Last week only had 30 odd runners. This PR has only existed since late last year so I'm amazed that there have even been 500 different runners, I expected to see the walkers feature around 300 on the list!

Thanks for linking to that - another good selection of questions and answers.

Kudos to Tom Williams for admitting that volunteering has never been correctly mapped out or applied. Lack of kudos for continuing to not do anything about it!

Interesting nuggets about the milestone t-shirt claims, with the 10 t-shirt bringing up the rear. There were loads of unclaimed 10 t-shirts during the Adidas days at my local event, with people's names being called out each week but nobody there to collect. A friend of mine, who stopped parkrunning back in 2015, recently received her invitation to claim her 50 t-shirt. She no longer even considers herself a runner, let alone a parkrunner, but will claim the t-shirt anyway as a badge of honour from a previous life.

I see your Uppsala and raise you Moberly, Missouri!

Top (and only!) 35 with 1:10:40, top 10 with sub 28 and course record with 23! Doesn't look like it's massively hilly.

Last week (week 5) they only had 15 participants and their first event had 5!

Made my PR return today after recovering from injuries in early April. Previous PB was 32.31, next goal sub 30 by end of July. Todays time 29.51! 2.40 knocked off the PB by learning how to run (and breathe!)

Congrats! Few things in running more motivating than PBs to consolidate improvement in training.

20 second PB this morning, following a 2 second PB last week and 70% age grading achieved.

Mostly on the back of spring marathon training I think - really seems to have helped
