Completed my 100 back in July, tee shirt arrived last week!
Upped my mileage recently from around 30, to 40 miles a week
Parkrun times slipped from about 2015 to 2115 as a bit knackered. Aged 57 so age grading Ok.
PB in my prime in early 80s was in the 17s, but training to get under 20 when aged 60

Sub 20 at 60 is pretty good, I was pleased with 70% at 60 - about 22:55. Now at 61 I don't have to go sub 23 to get 70%.
The bad news is it seems to get more competitive at over 60 - the theory is that the serious runners keep going and the less serious drop out!
Anyway, I've thought for a while that we should try to have a PH parkrun meet up and now the perfect place for it is starting soon....Brooklands.
Obviously not perfect if you live in Scotland but appropriate for PH. I'll make a note to find a date in Spring.

i wish I could get regulaly under 25 mins at 39, letalone 20 minutes!
PH parkrun meet sounds good.
Likewise, under 25mins is a pipe dream for 42yo me. Although, the more running I do, my times are coming down. Slowly. We shall see.PH parkrun meet sounds good.
I volunteered at Hay Lodge in Peebles at the weekend as was doing the Glentress Night 10k later on that day. And today my 50 shirt arrived. Got the email on Thursday, ordered same day and bish bosh delivered today. Impressed. Decent enough quality for a free T-shirt, better than the freebies that come with "proper" race events.
Oh, Brooklands would be fun. Just a pain I'm in Scotland.

How did you find the Peebles parkrun? I’ve been meaning to go do it. I’ve ridden mountain bikes in the Tweed valley for years, so it will be cool to come down for some running. Oh, Brooklands would be fun. Just a pain I'm in Scotland.

Only got the 50 at the mo, but yeah, I think it's a brilliant tee-shirt, good length, great quality, it's part of my top tier tees. downthepub said:

I'm 41 and set myself a goal of going sub 20 earlier in the year. My current PB is 21:50, set a couple of weeks ago, however I know people my age who are well below 20 minutes and for them my PB would be a light jog; but equally I know people my age who train harder and smarter than me but have yet to crack 25, or even 30 minutes. This is true for most runners - there will always be loads of people ahead of you and behind you. The important thing is to enjoy your running, and if like me you have a goal, enjoy striving for your goal and hopefully one day achieving it. Oh, and not getting injured!!

Anyone doing parkrun with a running buggy?
I've bought not one, but two poncy Thule chariots a single and a double, as their mum moans if I disappear for hours running so will be taking one or both. Never done parkrun as don't do races but kids will love the challenge and overtake aspect so thinking of doing a different one every week and making s morning of it with brunch after.
Will start at the back or so so don't annoy you PB queen's

I'm so proud. Two years ago, I started organising a team to get a junior parkrun off the ground. This March we had our first event and as ED I was delighted. We got over the difficult first few, weathered lack of runners and lack of volunteers, but perseverance and a great attitude from my exceptional team got us through and we're solid and established.
Today, on his fourth birthday, my son ran into the funnel for the first time, to a chorus of Happy Birthday To You. It was exactly the reason I started the whole thing in the first place. And I had no idea there would be singing. It was wonderful.
And yes, buggy runner here. Loads of parkruns are buggy suitable. I'd try some smaller ones first to get the handling down. I run 22-23 off-road with a buggy, so even if I start at the back, I'm working through. You can get grumbled at if you seed yourself for time, but after five minutes, when you can still chat to your kid and they're blowing hard, the grumbles cease...
A double can be hard to get down a funnel, fyi.

There’s a guy at my local parkrun who runs 20-21 minutes with a baby in a buggy He has to start at the side and always passes me!
We had a guy at Frimley who was regularly doing 20ish with a buggy. He reckoned it was a bit annoying how many people would see a buggy and get in front of him at the start line.I did one in the Midlands somewhere where there was a guy in the top 10 (I'm guessing around the 20ish mark again) with a buggy but running in bare feet!

Bit of fuss in the Norwich (Eaton Park) parkrun - apparently they've now started blowing whistles at the slower runners to move out the way of faster runners coming up behind. There was talk about it on another Norwich parkrun Facebook page but I can't find the thread on it now so maybe it got deleted.
It's a bit odd as the course is 2.75 laps around a rectangular park so anyone running slower than 23 minutes (ie most of the runners) is going to get lapped.
Must admit of the three Norwich parkruns this is my least favourite - it's just too busy for the small course, I've only done it twice and both times I've almost collided with a pram! First time it was in the very tight finishing funnel.
