Wow … did anyone else find that unpleasant this morning....

Last couple of parkruns have been around 22 minutes, …. Not today …. at least I can have comfort having beat the 22 pacer
even if I only did 22:48 the moral victory was mine

Went to Aberdare it wasn't so bad 3 and 2/3 laps with a hill in it, but how often can you say you've ran around a motorcycle racing circuit?

Probably not such a novelty for the people of Aberdare lol

Yep, was planning a parkrun then a slow 20k straight after, but bailed after parkrun and went for a coffee instead after battling the gales on the home straight.

I know Barry Islands warned about professional filming, is there something going on?

Sky were at Woodhouse Moor a few weeks ago, "recording a series about special parkrunners,"

I have read when it's due to be broadcast but can't remember when or where I read it - probably someone's blog or FB page.

There are 43 500 club members so far.

When the first person did 100 (Darren Wood) PSH had a fleece made for him which wouldn't set a precedent because "no one else is ever going to do 100"

He's done some amazing things for running but his ability to predict the future has been pretty poor smile

Nice to see the purple and the green there.

As for sky, they spent a lot of time chatting to one parkrunner. From the appearance, I don't know, but I would hazard a guess at cancer victor/charity raiser.

I should reach my 250 in march, missing quite a few now s in working abroad and no parkrun the Netherlands yet.

Annoyingly I ordered my purple shirt in XL, and they found they come out bigger than I expected and I should have ordered an L. Need to find someone whos going to order an XL and do an exchange with them.

I found the wind a killer on saturday, on what is a flat course (my local is Stratford-on-Avon) but still managed to clock a PB - 35:22 - a whole 2 minutes off my previous PD, so well chuffed.

Ran my 289th on Saturday and I'm now just a single run away from the "Double-ton" challenge - 200 runs at a single event. The closest person at my local is still some 150 runs away from the 500 club!

Still failing to finish in XX:01 to complete "Stopwatch Bingo"...

Well done John on your total but what about your volunteering output
Many random pre & post event jobs along with pacing equal 131 volunteering sessions smile

The parkrun challenges extension for Google Chrome or Firefox makes it easy for you to identify which times are missing. A friend of mine defied the odds (apparently, 280 or so runs is average/typical to complete the challenge without intentionally doing so) with some 220-230 runs or so. He now feels left out as the rest of our group are all scrambling around for the scraps!

Fortunately I'd completed bingo before I knew it existed so never had to stress about it - must be the worst one to try and get, most other challenges you can control, but not bingo.

I'm doing my 250th recorded volunteering on Saturday - I don't bother about recording all of them - as Event Director there are very few weeks that I don't do something even when I run, so I only log them when they need to be on the roster....
...except that as a point of principle the week when I clear the drains by the cafe out of leaf sludge! The council should really do it but they don't and it's less work to do it myself than to send 300 emails nagging them!

Unfortunately i'm a luddite so have messed about with excel mid & vlookups
2 bingo numbers left after 151 runs, number 15 achieved at 217 and the reluctant 25 is still missing frown

DO may parkruns do a cake table? It does make me think how great our PR is
A few tourists have commented on how great it is. I thought it was a normal parkrun thing, though I admit the few I've touristed at, there is nothing like it.

Having knocked my PB down by a few seconds to 31:39 from 32:06 a couple of weeks ago, I managed to surprise myself at the weekend with another new PB of 30:17 on my 25th run. Gutted I didn't do sub 30 minutes, but it's something to aim for still! I joined a running club just before Xmas and have been going out with them on a Tuesday night running between 5 and 7km and it's made a big difference, though I am never likely to repeat the marathon I did 16 years ago!
