I can’t see how Parkrun can go ahead for a while, in view of the guidance:-
“ Avoid large gatherings, and gatherings in smaller public spaces such as pubs, cinemas, restaurants, theatres, bars, clubs”
Parkrun can’t continue surely..
I run every day, I tend to run at quiet times but gave consciously started to steer clear of others when possible .

The England Athletics guidance is “ Avoid large gatherings, and gatherings in smaller public spaces such as pubs, cinemas, restaurants, theatres, bars, clubs”

As a result, England Athletics advises that all face-to-face activity such as club training sessions, events, competitions, club committee and face-to-face meetings, athlete camps, running groups and social events should be suspended until at least the end of April.
I know parkrun isn't affiliated to England Athletics but if the 'official' group is saying don't meet to train until the end of April I can't see how parkrun can.
Our local council, whose land we use, have asked us to cancel for the foreseeable future. I'm surprised HQ haven't issued anything blanket as frankly, I don't see anything to be gained from encouraging people to get together against general advice.
I was down for RDing in a fortnight, but had pulled myself off the rota for that as I (like the Glaswegians) am not happy about exposing myself (now now). I have elderly parents and as an only child, my responsibility lie with them first.

I haven't been able to Parkrun since 22nd Feb due to holidays and cancellations. I'm pretty sure I'm still getting up on a Saturday morning to run from 9am, and hopefully support a local business with a takeaway breakfast and coffee.
I’ll get my lad up and we will do a run together. Although it may be at 10am rather than 9 downthepub said:
Feel sorry for the bloke who was due to finish off his parkruns on every single day of the year on March 28th. He got the difficult 29th Feb, but fell at almost the last hurdle.
Oh yes, 2026 is the next time he;ll be able to do it. I wonder if someone else might beat him to it, lots will have 29/02 now so it's possible someone else could do it.Tom Williams (parkrun COO) is talking about the situation on Marathon Talk https://marathontalk.libsyn.com from 43:30
With Me Now pod will be published later today, possibly recorded before the full cancellation https://withmenow.libsyn.com
