Did my usual at Stratford-upon-Avon this saturday - well organized (as usual), and attendance around the 330 mark - so not packed, but well-enough to make it an enjoyable return.
Took it easy (for me) as i had a long run to do on Sunday, but still managed a sub-30 minute which i will take most days of the week.
The real eye-opener was seeing our course record being broken! first man round in 14:29! Almost 90 seconds ahead of the rest of the pack

Interesting notes on attendance, I wonder if parkrun will release a greater breakdown as to who is staying away. Whether the average age/gender mix/time has altered from pre Mar20.
Despite Didcot being closed Abingdon was down on average number of runners, however Endure24 was this weekend so I can guess there were a few folk there.

Great to see Parkrun events back on. Can't wait to get back, although I'm waiting for my second jab before I venture down on a saturday morning.
Typical negative comments from the NIMBY "have to take my dog for a crap at exactly 9am" brigade on local news sites/social media about runners taking over the parks. I get an odd satisfaction that these small minded little people get as wound up as they do.

Bonkers isn't it... before lockdown we had a militant bloke who insisted on walking his down down the middle of the path against the oncoming runners, rather than stand to the side for a few minutes, then haranging the RD about his right to walk his dog unimpeded afterwards.I'm looking nervously forward to running - was Run Director last week so this is my first since lockdown and first since I had my pacemaker fitted (before you ask, no it doesn't have a race pace turbo button!)
My new PBs start from here, not sure I'll ever get back to where I was, partly because I'm a year and a half older, but it's going to be interesting to see ho wit goes.

Woohoo, first parkrun in 16 months, got caught up in the moment and did the first km faster than my pb pace, despite me being nowhere near fit enough for that pace. Managed a good couple of minutes faster than any 5k I've managed recently though so shows what a difference running with other people makes.

Same here,Pre lockdown usually 25-26mins
Running on local roads/paths 29-30mins over the last few weeks. I have only just downloaded an App to track this
Today 28.02
It was good to have our local parkrun back (Didcot) as it was unable to open last week due to a crane on the course. Looking at the results there were 256 folk there which is up from the average of 190.
I knocked 47s on my previous pb at Didcot but marginally slower than last week in Abingdon but i think that's the course and traffic in Didcot more than anything.

2nd one done after doing the first one back last week. Different course this week - Poole park run.
Pleased with 29 mins but I am a couple off my normal pace but 10lbs heavier since lockdown which doesn’t help
Same here - I must’ve put on similar amount of weight during lockdown and the parkrun I go to has two really steep hills to lug that extra weight up! pb is just over 25 minutes and I’m currently around the 29 minute markPleased with 29 mins but I am a couple off my normal pace but 10lbs heavier since lockdown which doesn’t help
Oddly, there were exactly the same finishers as last week (223)

I’ve noticed a few times at a certain parkrun that I go to that a small group of the faster runners seem to take it too seriously. On some sections you run past those further behind and you’re supposed to keep to your half/side of the path. However they end up going three abreast and end up being too close. Forcing those coming towards them over to the side. I know it’s not in the spirit of parkrun but these are the people who end up giving parkrun a bad image/ put first timers off. So can imagine these runners not paying consideration to other park users.

I'm with you, I'm slow enough that the only person I'm racing is myself.I’ve noticed a few times at a certain parkrun that I go to that a small group of the faster runners seem to take it too seriously. Fortunately it seems like most of the folks at my local one are pretty relaxed.
Off to the New Forest tomorrow for a spot of tourism to run it with my brother and his little boy.
