The incident with the green and spider, was Selby suggesting that he didn't get the foul, I thought the 4 points were given but a miss not allowed as he hit the reds. Maybe I didn't hear properly but Selby seem to suggest that Higgins offered a reply so thinking he wasn't given the 4 points.

Edit - sorry, missed the frame with the black incident, all makes sense now!

Can't stand that cheating from Wishaw. Should have a lifetime ban from the game.

Firstly it was the NOTW - cant trust them as far as you can throw them

Secondly it is very easy to twist a moment in time to make it soudn worse than it is

https://www.theguardian.com/media/greenslade/2010/...

Even if Higgins did suggest anything not within the rules AFAIR there was never any agreement to cheat.

So the most boring man in Snooker wins again, respect he has got talent but to make a frame last 40 minutes or more is not my kind of snooker

I only hope that someone can get on terms soon as it cannot be good for the game, he is just so dull.

Just not sure what went on with this final, to be 10-4 down and then win is a good result but to me Higgins almost seemed to give up, very strange

I did hope that someone else had a chance this year (Ding or Trump) but did say at the start that no doubt he would end up winning.

He agreed a price and was discussing how to get paid the money without it being flagged up.

Cleared of wrongdoing but banned anyway? Makes sense. NOTW or not he's a cheating .

Higgins is a disgrace. Lucky to still be allowed near a table.

He has always been a boring player too. So now he's just a cheating bore.

The sooner he's out the sport the better.

Fair play to Mark Selby. I'm not a fan of the way he goes about his business, his air of arrogance, or the way he can't help but look up to his wife for approval each time he plays an impressive shot, but he is ultimately the best match player in the world.

Completely agree - I refuse to watch a match he is involved in. Every time I see him, I get reminded of his willingness to cheat. He should have been banned for life.

If someone puts you in an awkward positron you can play along - doesn't mean you mean it

IIRC he was done for not reporting it.

I am not saying it is clear cut but I am willing to give him the benefit of doubt due to what I know about the NOTW and their stings.

The qualifying rounds of the World Championship are currently taking place. China's Liang Wenbo missed a straightforward final black for what would have been a 147. Thing is he already scored a 147 a few frames earlier. He would have been the first player to score more than 1 x 147 in a competitive match.

Looking forward to this.

Hope it's not Higgins or Selby.

I can't wait. I actually thought it was on at Easter so I've been waiting a while already.

My main runners and riders...

Selby - boring
Robertson - weirdo
Higgins - cheating
Ding - OK
Fatty - ginger
Ronnie - top
Wenbo - sound
McGill - Scottish
Fu - robotic
Trump - wannabe

Ronnie or Wenbo for me. Or Maguire. Good to watch around the table. The rest of the drones, Bingham, Hawkins, Wilson etc can bore off.

Wenbo is not good on pressure final blacks. I watched him miss matchball black in his first round match against a certain Ronnie O'Sullivan last year in the Masters at Alexandra Palace, only for Ronnie to clear up the frame, and win the match. And the tournament. Which was a good thing, because I had 20 quid on Ronnie to win the tournament. So Wenbo missing the black won me 70 quid biggrin

Looks like Wenbo won't be in it at all this year, trailing 0-9 to Jamie Jones. It's not been a successful qualifying campaign for the Chinese in general, with Xiao Guodong looking like the only player that's going to make it through.

I saw an interview with Jimmy Sh*te at the start of qualifying where he was talking up his chances on the back of putting in the hours on the practice table. Was going great for him too, right up until he met a good player (Joe Perry) and promptly lost. I'm amazed he didn't retire from the professional tour years ago and just cash in on the exhibition circuit.

Not looking good for Ken Doherty either. I saw him say he'd retire after this World Champs if he made it in. Looks like he's going out to Matthew Stevens in QRd3 (7-2 down as i write this), so i wonder if he might not retire too.

Thought Ken would have made it through to the Crucible, but it probably is time for him to go now along with Jimmy. £5k a night for exhibition games is still a good nights pay, we had Steve Davis over a few years ago for a charity event and had a great night. Came back to the local to play pool but ended up playing cards until about 7am.

I thought he was all about the decks these days come the small hours!

Kenny D obliterated 10-2 by Matthew Stevens.

Tough draws for Ronnie (Maguire) and Selby (Perry).

Either of them could lose those matches if they were having an off day. But given Ronnie's overall form this season and Selby's sudden upswing in form at the China Open, i'd expect them both to win.
