BBC have the 2 majors but occasionally show some others on the red button / interactive service.

The Home Nations championships are appear to be part of the Discovery network broadcast as the one just gone & the previous were broadcast fully on Eurosport, but additional free to air coverage of the afternoon games was avaiilable on Quest.

ITV4 also shows some of the competitions.

Quite a lot of snooker around again these days.

Things kick off on Saturday.

Bottom half of the draw looks tougher than the top. Potential second round matches include Ronnie vs Maguire and Ding vs Trump with the winners facing off in the 1/4 final.

Williams seems to have a nice draw.

We are off to the Monday morning session after my Mrs bought tickets nearly a year ago. Can't wait to see from a different perspective after watching it on the TV for years.

The Trump v Un-Nooh and the Ding v McGill could be excellent first round matches. Could be a couple of upsets there.

Un-Nooh is an amazing player, he needs to slow down a bit though, I don’t think he’s suited to the long version of the game.

The young Chinese player, Zhao Xintong, that Selby has drawn is very good. On that note there’s a record 6 Chinese players in the 32 this year. A sign of things to come no doubt given how big the game is over there now.

Maguire is in trouble here - and doing his usual feeling sorry for himself act.

Maguire doesn't have the temperament to be a really top player. He can't keep his emotions in check and it affects him and helps his opponents. He should see someone about it tbh, but if he hasn't by now he never will.

I was thinking the same thing, half waiting for him to throw his cue across the room!

Think the Brecel match is a better one to watch this evening.

This has turned out to be a really good match - that frame (with the fluke) where Maguire needed a snooker to stay in the match was quite something.

He did well in the end. The blue was outrageous. hehe

As a fellow Glaswegian I'd like to see him do well but when he's banging the table, bouncing the cue off the ground and generally looking like he's watching his neighbour pump his Mrs it won't happen.

Fascinating start to O’Sullivan and rookie Cahill’s match so far.

Don't think Cahill will be an amateur for much longer, excellent match
