Watched the Ronnie interview before and I'm sorry, but the guy is an idiot. Higgins get's a load of stick on here for his past misdemeanour, but if there was a choice of having just Ronnie or Higgin's in the game, Higgins should be in. At least he is a true professional and doesn't seek the limelight with outrageous interviews. The other day Ronnie was all in favour of there being no fans as it was easy to get around, he could stay close to the venue and then today he says it's like playing in a morgue. Everything he says in an interview is for a reaction, he should just stick to the punditry now I think, which is a shame, because when he can be arsed he is still the best player in the world.

Don't think you're gonna find much agreement with that...Ronnie's a showman, a polemicist, a contrarian and a bawbag as well as being a genius, and that's why people love him. Higgin's is a fat cheating wker fae Wishy. Get him in the fking bin.
I thought it was funny! And while it’s definitely tactlessly put, I’m not sure he’s wrong. Higgins, ROS, and Williams were all winning major tournaments against the old guard when they were in the late teens and early twenties. The new generation - Lisowksi et al - aren’t despite many more chances to do so.
Also, I’m not sure it’s up there with Alex Higgins’ offer to have Dennis Taylor shot in terms of snooker controversies.

I find Ronnie the most frustrating guy in snooker. A pleasure to watch but an unpleasant guy to listen to at times. I feel sorry for all his die-hard fans who give him huge support only for him to make comments like he did yesterday.
As for his comments on the lower raked players, look at tennis where Federer, Nadal and Djokovic have been dominant for 10-15 years in an incredibly physical sport where you would think age would take its toll far sooner. The fact of the matter is though, they're arguably the 3 greatest tennis players of all time, so the next person coming along and replacing them isn't easy. Ronnie is clearly one of, if not the actual, best of all time so it's hard to surpass him too.
I also think he forgets his own losses, for example to Mei Xiwen (seeded 69th) in the last English Open or Dominic Dale (seeded 110th) in the World Open Qualifiers. I grant you such losses are few and far between, but if everyone outside the top 50 is so hilariously poor, why has he lost to them twice this season alone?

'The team played as a unit, opposition are a strong outfit, we're focusing on the next game, going to keep plugging away'
At least Ronnie's interviews have a bit of 'flavour'

Can't think of another modern sportsman who puts his foot in it, in interviews as much as O'Sullivan.
The way he spoke about the fans was totally disrespectful.
I'm pleased Williams is on top tonight.
He doesn't put his foot in it though, that would suggest he doesn't know what he is saying. He knows exactly what he is saying and does it deliberately to generate reactions, get headlines or whatever the reason. I've always been a fan of Ronnie's, but it's boring now, he is where he is because he has an unbelievable natural talent, it's just a shame he has to drag snooker as a whole through his side-show by digging out opponents, having a go at the fans, saying he turned up for a bit of fun and wasn't bothered etc. The way he spoke about the fans was totally disrespectful.

I’m currently watching the Robertson v Selby match and have once again had to turn the sound off due to Dave Farrar spouting absolute drivel in such a stupidly artificial tone.
You don’t need to have somebody watching the match as all he does is recite the same well worn cliches over and over again in an over-enthusiastic manner - irrespective of anything that happens. The man is completely infuriating.
I would rather hear some of Mark Selby’s one-liners if I’m honest.

Agreed, I wondered who it was, they talk about Selby like he is a snooker god but he has ground Robertson down at some points he was taking 35 seconds per shot. You don’t need to have somebody watching the match as all he does is recite the same well worn cliches over and over again in an over-enthusiastic manner - irrespective of anything that happens. I am hoping he does not go all the way and win it.

You know what to expect with ROS interviews, don't take them to heart.
