Allen and Selby, playing that slow that they had to finish the session a frame early.

And does Selby ever smile laugh
He only has a sly smile when he gets a fluke.

Close...
Looks more like trapped wind laugh

Was a good interview with Selby after the game on Eurosport.

Solid player all round.

My local club (Glasgow), still can't open. Got a set of Aramith 1G that ain't been christened yet (Xmas Pressie via mum and dad).

Dougie.

Quite possibly, he doesn't have O'Sullivan to upset him this year smile

Brilliant 130 clearance by McGill after Bingham's break-off..., which wasn't too shabby!
McGill had the cue-ball on a piece of elastic from beginning to end. This frame really shows why Mark William's new break-off technique is slowly getting more interest from the other players.....

Fair play to Wilson. I had Robertson down as favourite.

They should change the rules so that you have to hit the reds directly on the break off.

This new approach isn't appropriate.

While they're at it, relax the miss rule so that it's not called if the player is deemed, by the referee, to have made a sufficiently acceptable attempt.

Some of the miss calls are ridiculous.

I did say that Selby was a fine snooker player.

He's going for it this year and I can't see him losing.

Agree with all of that. Why they call him The Jester though when he looks like he's lost a tenner and found a penny the whole time I don't know. Zero personality. Maybe it's irony. I loved the bit of irreverence from Williams yesterday when he tried to finish off a frame using the rest for the last few balls. The competition needs moments of levity like that. Selby is a bloody funsponge.

Rooting for McGill myself this year, he seems a very nice chap.

Interesting to see the development of Jack Lisowsky this tournament.

Not only has he started to get control of his nerves during a match thereby consistently playing better, he's also been recognised (probably by Barry Hearn) as a potential future Steve Davis type of ambassador for the game.

He's a genuine, nice, good looking (for the ladies, but there may be a caveat there) guy with a backstory.

I think he's going to become a big part of the sport over the next 20 or so years.

Hearn doing what Hearn does.

Brilliantly closed out by Bingham against McGill in the decider.. McGill on a break, goes into pack and is on nothing - Then Bingham clears up with a superb 125...! smile

Commentators explained it quite well during the last session of the Bingham/McGill match. Bingham I think missed a red by a fag paper and Dennis Taylor commented that a miss will be called as there was an easier shot for Bingham to play to hit a red, though it won't have left the table as safe.

Trump has made a good start to tonight's session against Murphy.. Taking the first 2 frames. Virgo commentating, by saying to try to move the 2 reds from the left cushion when playing a red would be the wrong shot - Trump plays it, releases the reds and wins the frame...
