I’d also echo the Selby criticism. Easily the dullest player to watch and he is really sucking the fun out of this final. Looks like he really doesn’t want to be there most of the time. I also think there’s a fair bit of gamesmanship involved in his style of play.

Really not thinking much of judd’s commentary so far. Feels like getting blood from a stone getting a word out of him and sounds like he has no emotion at all. Considering he has been complaining about the older commentators at the moment I am preferring them! I’d like to see more of the younger players commentating as the game has moved on a lot since a lot of the older commentators were at the top of the game but I’m really not thinking judd is a good choice.
Agree about the older commentators and how the game has moved on/changed over the years. I did some research, back in 1981 (Virgo, Davis, Taylor and Parrot era) there was 13 century breaks in the whole tournament, this year it's well over 100 already.

Indeed.

Tomorrow I'll be fitting new front drop links and doing a bit of bodywork on the Bongo, I won't be wasting another day watching this dreary match.

Can I help? Anything but this.

That bloody pointing thing he does with his cue for every bloody potential shot on the table is intensely annoying.

Shaun is off and running now hopefully so should get to see some decent break building instead of selby being a black hole for happiness as normal.

I quite like watching Murphy. When on form his cue action is just amazing. The only player to come close that I can remember is Stephen Lee.

Murphy was on a good break there, and broke down on the last red he needed.... now watch, prepare for the long slog of Selby trying to get back in....!

Typical Selby, but thankfully Murphy soon closed out this frame... Hoping he can get to 5-3 to end the session.

Don't think you should play on after an obvious fluke.

Get the points, but your opponent then comes to the table.

Anyone got Bazzer's phone number.

Maybe I'll Tweet the man.

Selby will do whatever it takes to win this year.

These two don't like each other and it's going to get nasty.

Don't know, don't two vastly differing playing styles make for a better spectacle ?
it'd be pretty drab [ and short ] final if every frame was a 9 minute single visit clear out.

Selby plays the way he does to suit himself and frustrate his opponent and in that order, in
golf, darts, poker, slow play, dither and excess musing time is a psychological thumb-nose,
and I'm all in favour of that,

Fair play ? ps off, it's a war out there.

Yeah I agree to an extent. It’s selbys mannerisms and complete lack of character aswell as his uninspiring playing style that I dislike. I enjoy all aspects of the game as I’m a player aswell as a spectator. It just seems that selby is so eager to drag out frames and matches often when it’s not really needed. If you played like that in a club people wouldn’t want to play you or watch the match and
You would have the piss taken relentlessly. I know they are there to win but it’s a sport at the end of the day, you are meant to enjoy it.

And punters have paid money to watch sport. Not carpet polishing and cue pointing.
