See... Carter's strategy of less than positive snooker in the latter part of this tournament hasn't been helped with having Wormtongue Ebdon in his camp.

Not the smartest of moves.

Well done Ronnie clap, he's played some excellent snooker over the course of the tournament, head and shoulders above everyone else these last two weeks.

Yes, virtually untouchable.

Will there be the announcement?

It must be hard playing pro snooker, if Ronie plays to his best, you can't beat him.

His safety was excellent as well as his potting, break building, positioning. A very talented person.

Anyone know why Ronnie breaks left handed and then plays predominantly right handed? I know he can play boith handed but there must be something tactical in this - or is he just winding up his opponent?

Nice to see him with his lad when he won though - reminded me of Alex Higgins back in 1982!

I like when he playe Stevens, they both just use whichever hand they want. It's absolutely bonkers.

During one of the commentaries Dennis Taylor mentioned his discussing this with Ronnie, apparently his eye-line is better for breaking-off using the left handed method.

I really really want to be a huge fan of Ronnie's. Honestly I do. But I can't cheer for this guy.

I used to be a huge fan of Higgins. Why are there so few gentlemen superstars any more?

Wasn't a great final though, apart from Ronnie's sublime clearance in frame 7. I'd rather watch two evenly matched players battling it out to a final frame decider after midnight, like the good old days.
That's a little rose tinted. "The good old days" brought us finals not even reaching the final session.

Ronnie was incredible this year. When his mind is on the game, he's unplayable. Even with 4 world titles to his name, he still hasn't met his true potential.

I totally agree.

That's what is sometimes so frustrating about O'Sullivan. He has so much talent there but he seems to only give it 80% sometimes.

Ronnie's back after playing virtually no competitive snooker since last year's triumph. Doing well in his first round match too.

It's as though he has never been away.

Awesome stuff.

First shock of the tournament with Mark Williams being knocked out by the young Welshman and Crucible debutant Michael White.

John 'I'm not corrupt, I just agreed to throw matches out of fear for my safety' Higgins could be the next big name out. He's trailing 6-3 at the interval against Mark Davies.

Fingers crossed. He should have been banned for life, imho.
Agreed.

The Graeme Dott and Peter Ebdon match is taking forever, they've played 3 frames since 10am this morning and they were already one behind schedule!

And now it's as if it never happened. The snooker authorities, ex-players, the bbc team etc still fawn over Higgins as if he's the second coming of Christ.

Anyway, he's out smile. Well done Mark Davis.
