30+ years at the top?

Nah….he managed 15 majors, most from 1997-2008, with one outlier in 2019.
Great player, perhaps the golfing GOAT, but no comparison to RoS, I’d say.
Ronnie has 40 majors, including 7 World Titles between 2001-2022. Just astonishing really.

Only Phil Taylor in darts IMO and he was only 23 years between first and last World Champs. Maybe another darts player could compete for the same in future.

For physical sports, Djokovic - 20 years, and Messi -21 years at the top of the game is about as impressive as it gets.

He effectively only had to compete against a quarter of the population that Millennium+ athletes have to.

There are certain people doing certain things, where even though you can comprehend what it is they do, and appreciate how difficult what they are doing is, still take your breath with the insouciant ease with which they do it. ROS is one, Wynton Marsalis another. There are very few such geniuses about.

RoS and Ding seem like unlikely friends but seems to be genuine bond there

Wonder how long he can carry on... mid 50s? As long as his mince pies are in good order he's fine I guess
I think his eyes are pretty dam good--that red that no-one else saw where he just clipped it.

I couldn't even see it move on replay.

Was getting ready to settle down and burn the midnight oil at 7-7

Bish bash bosh and Ronnie is taking trophy selfies with the crowd eek

Was very entertaining the way he finished the match off, like a surfer catching a big swell and riding it all the way to the shore. Respect.
