Ronnie just missed out on another 147 with a 146. He trails 11-9.

That was a great break - 6 and a bit minutes.

Shame he did not get the 147. He has not made a maximum in competition for many years.

I'm going to lose most of my interest if Ronnie goes out, about to go 12-9 down.

The Ronnie era is pretty much over. He obviously struggles with psychological issues and, combined with his aging physical skills, RoS is just not a force on the green table anymore.

Looks like that lucky nudge behind the brown has done it for Ding.

Well played all the same!

It appears to be done now, and I think that might conclude my watching. I can't bear the thought of watching Mark Selby in another final.

You and me both. Very generous and sporting of Ronnie at the end - classy.

Probably the only thing that might be interesting is to see if Ding can get the better of Slowby.

Ok.

But from yesterday's score I think it was foregone conclusion.

The bbc studio chaps mentioned today that Selby will end this season world number 1 and it will be the 6th consecutive year for him - Hendry has the record which is 8 years. It doesn't feel like Selby has dominated for that long but looking at the competition - Ding, Trump, Robertson etc (I won't include Ronnie as he doesn't play all the tournaments so will never build up the ranking points) - Selby will probably remain there for a while longer as the others are so inconsistent.

Anyway, Ding has made a good start and is 5-3 up. smile Hope Hawkins can do something similar tonight vs the fixer.

I've got money on Selby to win the tournament but I think ding is playing out of his skin. I kind of hope ding wins the competition.

Selby has an all-time match-win percentage (68%) that is pretty much on a par with Hendry (69%), Higgins (69%) and Davis (63%), so he is "there or thereabouts" among the greats. Selby is charisma-free on and off the table, so it is easy to see how his anonymous personality has flown under most people's radar for the past 5+ years.

I like Selby, his not the most amazing player to watch but he does get the job done and fair play to him for that.

Having said that, I'd be really pleased if Ding was to win it this year.
