Cynic mode on - Of course it's a nice easy way for the ECB to gain rankings and show success by fielding full strength teams against weaker opponents, further weakened by the IPL.

With my real cynic hat on I'd almost go so far as to say the ECB don't want to have to adapt to some come-lately from a former colony who are making massive amounts of money in a form of the game that the traditionalists at the ECB don't appreciate
Tradionalists at the ECB?????

WHICH BLOODY TRADITIONALISTS??????????????????

Id love it if you found any! Please, feel free to hunt for the buggers. I wish there were any traditionalists at the ECB, but it seems all that is found there now are shiny Burton suited money grabbing wideboys. In fact its arguable which ECB is more of a money making organisation...the European Central Bank or those charged with running the English game.

Actually Cheib I like that. Release IPL players and can blood 3-5 new players in the side, with a mix of more experienced senior blokes. Suddenly the May series becomes relevent as it will be full of young lions and ambition amongst everybody.
Yup....to me everyone is a winner. I reckon the crowds would still be the same and I think SKY would actually be more interested in the IPL if it has England players in it. I'd definitely be more inclined to watch it.
I like that too, sounds like a great idea.

Bob Hope the ECB will though.

Genius has been left out of the Indian squad. Which is great.

Shame that James Taylor has been left out as well-think that's a bit hasty. He is in the backup squad though.

Also the surname Compton might appear in an England team again.

Think Bopara is done with Tests now.

FIGJAM/KPG was never going to be in the squad in a month of sundays! There would be outright revolt.

Nice to see Compton on the T20 coverage, spoke very well. Can't quite place his accent though, Warwickshire? Home counties? Maybe John could help me out?!

Good to see Monty back in the squad. I wonder if he's learned to catch?

Anyone know what the 'personal issues' are with Bopara? Presumably something to do with his Missus/bird?

Interesting article about the KP situation in the Telegraph

http://www.telegraph.co.uk/sport/cricket/kevinpiet...

KP is a long way from being innocent in this matter but frankly if half of that is true the ECB need to hang their heads in shame. What a fking mess.

Eh?

That article doesnt say anything damning or interesting...to/about either the ECB or KP. It doesnt say anything much at all in fact apart from the ECB wanted KP to attend a training camp, whilst KP wanted to go to India which always a non-starter idea as Flower and dressing room would not allow it.

KP and England will not be solved by the ECB, they are now irrelevent to the issue. It will be solved only by Flower and Chef, because its a dressing room problem. For the record I dont think KP is the only problem in there, I suspect Id be wanting to have words with Swann to tone down the increasingly annoying cheeky chappy thing and stop stirring all the time.
