Hamilton stands head and shoulders above probably the least inspiring list the BBC has ever come up with.
Agree but who else would you have included?Lynchie999 said:

Tyson Fury has asked to be removed from the list as he's not interested.
Good for him I say...I think they should replace him with that bloke off the Youtube ... (Joe Wicks)

One for a Pride of Britain award, maybe.

I am no F1 or Hamilton fan but it has to be him, watching what he did in Turkey with difficult track conditions (resurfacing and rain) was just magical, he just seems to squeeze so much more out of the car than Bottas. Though Ash Sutton should also get a mention in my list this year, but BBC don't seem to care much about touring cars

They really don't.I realised years ago that the nominations are just the sports that the BBC like rather than achievements in any sport when Andy Priaulx won the World Touring Car Championship three years in a row and didn't even get a mention.

Wicks is one of the most annoying tts to ever appear on TV, he can fk right off IMHO
I really like him. I love his enthusiasm as we’re doing some planking or whatever. He’s got a podcast now where he interviews people. It’s perhaps not his forte but you should definitely check it out.

To the general sports media (and a lot of the public) motorsport = F1. Nothing else counts. Johnny Rea getting a podium place a few years ago forced them to make a shortlist - and since then he hasn't been on it. I realised years ago that the nominations are just the sports that the BBC like rather than achievements in any sport when Andy Priaulx won the World Touring Car Championship three years in a row and didn't even get a mention.
