I don’t like Hamilton but it’s got to be him this year imo.
Agreed.
Agreed. Unless there's another sportsperson who's become the GOAT in their sport this year, and is less annoying than Lewis. I don't think there is, though.
Same. Not a fan of him at all, but you cant deny his talent and his achievement this year. Also he was not far from winning his maiden season and so by a small twist of fate this could have been his 8th world title. More race wins than anyone else, way more poles. And you cant say its the car. Plenty of other decent drivers have driven the same car and got no where near

Its a pointless award as it just becomes a popularity contest. Looking at the list it will go to Hamilton, but my vote would go to Ronnie. Seems to have overcome alot in his personal life, and actually appears to have a personality.

Not a fan of F1, and just seems while Hamilton is talented it would be a shock if he and Mercedes didn't win the titles each year. Not exactly exciting stuff.

Should go to former runner up Kevin Sinfield for his mammoth achievement this week in fundraising for the MNDA.

Not sure if it has to go to a sports person who is currently actually playing/participating though

I was thinking similar. 7 Marathons in 7 days is a fantastic achievement. The wanted to raise £77k, and so far raised £1.2m and its still going up. If they dont need to be playing he should get it.

it's incredible what he did, the most interesting thing is that he himself did not expect it )

He did well. Ever since Eddie Izzard ran 29 marathons in as many days the benchmark for amazement has been set very high.

I thought the BBC played Hamilton’s achievement and what it takes down. For every other sport they have had a commentary telling viewers about the achievement and the sportsperson

During the Rashford bit they showed a kid with a packet of biscuits!

Does no one at the BBC check these things out.

What would you expect a footballer on £100000s a week to drive , a 15 year old Fiesta ?

I like Tyson he’s great.

However on SPOTY he’s stated clearly he doesn’t want to win it or be involved with it. He’s a fighter that what he loves. It doesn’t like the like light. Let someone else take the victory instead.

He had a very random interview with Gary Lineker a few years ago on SPOTY if I’d done that I’d never want to be on that show again period

Any thoughts on why Stuart Broad was chosen over Jimmy Anderson this year? To me Jimmy seemed the stand out cricketer this year.
