That third set was the best tennis I've ever seen played on clay - some remarkable shots and returns, and then some truly unbelievable ones to top them.

Hang on I am not up to date with the rules . . .Djokovic raises a hand . . . no Hawkeye(?) & the umpire scurries over to the mark in the ground to show that is Out?

Don't think there ever been hawkeye on clay.

Playing this level of tennis for 4hr is something I can't just imagine going through.

What a match and a result I didn't think it would happen unless Nadal was injured but the 1st 3 set the tennis was just brilliant.

Nadal was a beaten man as soon as he lost the 3rd - he knew he couldn't last the course. Shame, but time marches on.

I would love to see Djokovic, Nadal and Federer all on 20 grand slam wins then Federer make a come back after a couple of years to make his total 21 by winning Wimbledon 2023.
I do like fairytales though.

The best three players ever, all competing at the same time!

Surely tennis fans are experiencing something that has never happened before and will never happen again…?

Prediction for tomorrow?

I either see a lights out performance by Tsitsi or a beat down by Djok with about 90% shots into Tsitsi backhand + a ton of drop shots.

If Djok serves and returns well then Tsitsi has little chance. Djok will find and breakdown whatever weakness his opponent has on the day, this is his best weapon. He doesn’t really have a technical weakness his opponent can exploit (unless you can hit the ball consistently hard as Wawrinka).

Tsitsi best tactic is serve well and get forward to finish points early, especially when he gets to use his forehand. Djokovic has incredible defence but Nadal just tried to out baseline him which isn’t going to happen anymore, he should have come forward more.

Djokovic in 4 sets either break in serve each sets or the odd tie break.

Decent match

Bit of an incident where Djokovic seemed to get a bit aggressive with a ball girl and he has done that before in other matches. Don't agree with that at all. These are youngsters and they don't need these top players being aggressive with them in front of an audience of millions.

Djokovic setting matchplay benchmark. He either beats you with killer consistency and if that doesn't work then he will outlast you.

Zverev is probably the fittest guy on tour now Andy has declined, I don't see Tsitsipas being able to outlast him with his build so he'll have to hit the ball harder which he can't with his backhand consistently. If Djok wins Wimbledon I'll be putting £50 on him doing the golden slam.

I do think when all three hang up their rackets, Djokovic will be the most forgettable from a tennis perspective. Fedal had such a massive impact on shaping tennis where as Djokovic is the "opponent".

Well done to Djokovic for another French Open - anyone who beats Nadal at Roland Garros deserves the title IMO! I didn't think Tsitsipas played a bad match yesterday but once he lost the 3rd set you had the feeling he'd blown it and so it proved.

I also think Djokovic will overtake Federer and Nadal in terms of Grand Slam titles - not sure either of them will win another but I think Novak has another couple of years at the top and will probably win at least a couple more Grand Slams in that time. Personally I won't remember him as fondly as either Roger or Rafa though; at times I find some of his attitude and manner on court a bit irritating and I certainly don't like his tendency to call convenient injury timeouts when matches aren't going his way - it's gamesmanship borderline cheating in my view but sadly the rules allow it.

I think Djoker will end up top of the Mens Single Grand Slam winners - he has an incredible focus and unwavering belief that has seen him through the toughest encounters and I think both Fed and Rafa are on the wane physically while Djoker seems to be maintaining his extraordinary level.

Whether he can become the only second person to complete the Golden Slam is another level again - a feat only completed once ever before by the wonderful Miss Steffi Graff.

One good thing to come out of Covid restrictions is the end of poor ballboys and ballgirls being summarily summoned and dismissed whilst having to handle dirty, sweaty and sometimes vomitty and bogey ridden towels - the players now have to do all their own fetching, carrying and returning of their towels.

I said that a few years ago. He's just relentless.

Good to see Sir Andy back on a Court - not brilliant but good enough to beat the man across the net and quite vocally chastising himself for every point that wasn't quite perfect or he felt he'd unnecessarily lost. He was also very emotional when interviewed after about how it felt to be back competing again - it obviously means a lot to him.
