From what i could see, she put her hand out and approached to, i assume, talk to Williams but Williams appeared to step back and look/walk away from her.

Didn't see that, they shake quite normally here, with some commiseration said and Serena thanks her - https://twitter.com/espn/status/140995167015136051...

Ah fair enough.

Watching the bbc and the camera angle used was at one end of the net and there was someone blocking some of the view.

Good to see the covid has rid the ball-persons of the unpleasant task of being the
custodians of the player's germ ridden towels.

Receptacles are positioned at the court corners for the use of.

What the hell have they used for the court markings this year? Seems like all you've got to do is hit a line and the ball will check up massively to win you the point.
Meanwhile, Murray's second serve is now running at just over 80mph. He's also adopted some of Nadal's mannerisms, lots of cap adjustments and interminable ball bouncing.

Not looking good for Serena.

Be a shame to see two people limp off the court today after Mannarino earlier.
Good riddance. Lost all respect for her after that performance when Osaka beat her at the US open.

Unless Otte blows up spectacularly Murray's going to have to lay the drama on extra thick to get out of this one. The roof might have to come to his rescue again.

Got so frustrated watching it I had to turn over. I hats off to Otte he playing way above his ranking, some of his shot are extremely good. You can tell Murray lacking in match play but his experience is showing through but frustrating to watch for me.

Yep but it's all going to script now, he's got the fourth set. Even if he pulls this one off I'm not sure how he'll progress beyond this round with an 80mph second serve. He comes alive when the roof is on and the atmos ramps up.

How his support team put up with all the ups and downs is beyond me.

I am Murray’s biggest fan but this is a hard watch. As said Otte playing above his ranking in spells, but Murray really struggling technically and physically - all the ranting seems counter productive. If he gets through here though he really has little chance against the no. 10 seed next.

Edit to add I appreciate expectations are low overall for a high finish in the championship- he just isn’t there yet.

His head has been all over the place. Which is unsurprising given his lack of match play. It’s not fun to watch. But then, was it ever?

He rarely demoralises opponents into collapse, because he pours all his emotions out into the open. He gives off so much for his opponents to feed off.

I’d love him to come out one day, all guns blazing, short points, not giving a fk.

Its a really frustrating watch.

But he held on in there, and finished the match with a bit of style.

Really enjoyed it, it's not pretty but it's proper sports drama.
