I played some tennis on Saturday for the first time in a couple of years with a different racket that I used to use.
Oh my gosh, I was awful. Just kept hitting too deep with all my forehands. More practice needed before I show my face again!
I did the same two weeks ago, by the end of the first hour I could feel my tennis elbow and shoulder injuries coming back so that could be the end of playing for me. Oh my gosh, I was awful. Just kept hitting too deep with all my forehands. More practice needed before I show my face again!

Yep, well she is 'close' the Andy Murray party as his wife's father is Raducanu's Head Coach.
Of course it's still early in her career - but some of the shots that were hit were phenomenal. Thankfully they've kept her on Court 1, to try and dampen things down a little, but the Daily Fail seem to now have Emma on her radar...
Maybe that run of 8 games in a row really helped in that match. I think there was a minor wobble in the 3rd or 4th game in the 1st set and then something similar in the 2nd set, but overall against her opponent she just kept on producing great shots and positive play. Cirstea did seem to struggle with her 1st serve which helped swing the balance in Emma's favour, but you can only play whoever is in front of you!!
She feels like the real deal to me - outstanding backhand, good forehand. Good shots on the run - there were so many times in the match that I wasn't expecting to see the ball returned let alone as a winner!
Radio 5 Live calling her the headline grabbing Emma, which is over-egging the pud, as she's only just won a tennis match, something she trains to do. We here at PH can confidently predict her stratospheric arc will plummet when she meets decent opposition as per the other other pretty Brit players like Annabel Croft, Laura Robson, Jodie Burrage.Of course it's still early in her career - but some of the shots that were hit were phenomenal. However the BBC thinks she's box office, bribing the Wimbers fixtures panel by
wangling an ratings busting evening game on a court with floodlights and a roof, trebles all round.

I reckon the nerves & pressure got to her. It happens.
McEnroe said similar on the BBC, and he's now getting slaughtered on social media for his mysogyinistic views.I reckon the lengthy game before buggered up her eating/energy preparation and Cap'n vomit and his merry band of gips and cramps came to say hi.
There will be questions asked but remember that her first game at Wimbledon this year was her second WTA game ever. She's done

McEnroe was right as far as I can see.
