Dart's forehand has gone walkies in the second set though - so many 'just' wide or 'just' long.

Great run for Murray. Never thought he’d manage a proper comeback, and very glad to be wrong.

It’s great to see him gradually improve from beating top-50, to top-20 and now top 10 players; I don’t believe he’ll be as good as he ever was (World Number 1 above Roger, Rafa and the Joker - a considerable achievement) but top 20 while his health and will hold out will be a huge success considering the hip surgeries.

Even if he holds this current level for a year or so it will be a fitting swan song for the UK’s greatest male singles player since Fred Perry in the 1930’s.

As long as he doesn't narrate it!

From Bbc

'Russia's Daniil Medvedev has replaced Novak Djokovic at the top of the world rankings

It is the first time since November 2003 that none of Djokovic, Rafael Nadal, Roger Federer or Andy Murray have appeared in the top two rankings spots.

Medvedev became the first player other than Djokovic, Nadal, Federer or Murray to top the men's rankings since American Andy Roddick 18 years ago when he briefly replaced Djokovic as number one in February.'

I know the cricket will take the headlines today but there have been two outstanding British Tennis performances today;

First Ryan Peniston (180) beats world number 5 (and French Open Finalist) Casper Ruud in straight sets at Queens, then Katie Boulter beats Alison Riske in straight sets and fantastic form in Birmingham - well done to both of them.

I know I must be missing something here but why do pro tennis players wear baseball caps back to front? Both of them are doing it at Queens and both are wincing at the sun. Don't they realise their caps have peaks for that very purpose? Just wondering.

There's actually a Brit playing in a Final today - ok, the Ilkley Open isn't as glamourous as most but a Final is a Final so well done to Jodie Burrage for getting there and best wishes against Dalma Galfi.

I use mine mainly for sweat absorbtion but also on serves against the sun by turning it the right way but I normally prefer the visor on my neck for receiving or when the sun is behind me. They may be using it to hold their hair and/or for heat protection.

Miss Burrage didn't win but in a week where a load of Brits have over-performed and climbed up the ranks Miss Burrage has reached her first ITP/WTA final and climbed from 216 in the world, past her best of 206 and up to 169 with a confirmed Wimbledon main draw wildcard also guaranteeing a few quid into the coffers.

Well done to all the brits who have done brilliantly this week beating opposition ranked significantly above them; Peniston, Draper, Boulter, Swan, Burrage, Kartal and Miyazaki - all confirmed as Wimbledon main draw wild cards.

Eastbourne and Wimbledon qualifying this coming week.

Just as an aside, Laura Robson (who injuries aside could have been a top ten and GS contender) gets to play Wimbledon one more time in the Ladies Invitational Doubles with her commentating partner Daniela Hantuchcova - any wombles spare tickets - let me know as I'd love to pop along and watch some of the fun games like that.

John does that. Tracy Austin was visibly pissed off with him.

Becker is in Jail, i doubt he is cracking jokes. biggrin
