I am a Wimbledon only tennis fan so pardon the ignorance.

Surprised to see Venus, assumed both sisters had retired.

Doesn’t seem very fit and commentators talking a lot about when she should retire!

Katie Swan and Harriet Dart out, but Jodie Burrage gets her first ever Garnd Slam tournament win.

The words 'grace' and the Williams sisters aren't usually seen in the same sentence.

They never were.

Ruthless? Powerful? Yes, but neither ever played an attractive game.

Who’s the American woman that commentates in the studio mostly it seems on woman’s tennis. I find her super irritating, (I seem to recall she’s an ex player).
Tracy Austin I think.

Folk queuing for nine hours to (not) get in Wimbledon yesterday because of enhanced Stop The Oil security checks. If they erected simple park-court style fencing around the courts there'd be no reduction in the viewing experience and no need for security checks.

Is the Wimbledon site subscription? Can't make anything play, may be being thick?
I found it impenetrable.
This is the link you want:

https://www.wimbledon.com/en_GB/interactive/centre...

No subscriptions, no mystery.

Hopefully iPlayerer is working today.

Thanks, I'll give it another go today. The internet here is very poor, maybe that's the issue.

Just flicked to the end of the highlights of that match where she lost.....what's the reason behind shaking her head at the umpire and not shaking hands? Apart from the obvious fact both the Williams sisters are tts, quite frankly.

Drama queens the pair of them. I thought Venus was a bit less sulky than her sister but her reaction to a perfectly valid (and as it turned out correct) challenge by her opponent was juvenile. The screeching for the injury was way over the top too. If you're really that injured, don't play.

Is that the only reason she was like that to the umpire, because she lost on a correct challenge to the call?!!? WTF??

Thiem v Tsitsipas is a bloody big match this early on. Really ought to fill Court 2 with that one. Kind of wish I'd taken the day off to mosey down there, ground access on the first couple of days is brilliant value as you get to see a lot of the bigger names on smaller courts.

Worryingly one of those will be Andy's opponent if he gets through. Shame he never made it high enough to be seeded.

Well, she can do one then, good riddance, don't come back. Be as disappointed or annoyed as you like about not winning, but to ignore the umpire is just childish.

Very much so.
