Trainer for what....?
Shooting a .22RF is nothing like shooting a full bore, so, what exactly would you learn from it?
Plausible explanation to myself for buying another gun? Shooting a .22RF is nothing like shooting a full bore, so, what exactly would you learn from it?
I like precision shooting. At the moment this means a trip to Bisley, range fees and expensive ammo. Can't do precision with my MP5 or lever action at the local club so an accurate 22 with scope would be nice. OTOH that MP40 looks pretty nice too....
If you have the MP5 clone anyway, adding a 'fun' MP40 is just that, another fun gun, which again, is nowt wrong with that - whatever the justification.
But you won't be doing any precision shooting with the MP40 either
Or you need to buy a bolt action .22RF rifle AND the MP40

Do you know if the dealer has MP5 magazines? I could do with another one.
Afraid not, just rifles with their original mags. Glad I bought 2 spares for mine!Obviously, one would hope that after next April, when we're out of the EU, we will be able to more easily get supply back in the UK....?
How about a sim day on the Isle of Wight ? If we can get 10 p'headers a good friend does a sim day at one of the better driven phesant shoots usually April May - 4000 clays over 4 stands - 5 guns taking it in turns with your partner loading - includes lunch at the pub and was around £160 each last year. I can arrange cheap ferrries and there are plenty of good b&b if you want a stay over -I am an RFD so if you ant to come for a few days I can store guns

That sounds ideal - count me in subject to date availability. SlimRick said:

Not sure if anyone can help but I’m just getting started in all this, the problem I have is that I’m right handed but had a accident which blurred my vision in my right eye when I was about 24.
I’ve been out on clay shooting days and had to shoot left handed but the bloke there said they were right handed guns .
So what’s the options for me, should I just bought the bullet (no pun intended) and learn to shoot left handed or can you get a right handed gun that shoots through your left eye?

Whilst cleaning my shotgun (Beretta 692) this weekend I wondered if anyone has any tips for getting ejectors out and in?
Although I am comfortable with the process itself, I do find that pressing down on the ejector to compress the spring is surprisingly hard work, especially as I then have to hold it with one hand whilst I flick out the cam that keeps it all in place. Same problem when putting them back in - they are fairly sharp and the spring is relatively strong, so keeping it all compressed with my thumb quickly starts to hurt!
Anyone got any tips on how to make the process a bit easier? I like to clean them out every other time I clean the gun and so I'm wondering about getting a long clamp and just using that to compress each ejector so that I can then flip out the cam at my leisure and slowly unwind the pressure on the whole thing to allow the ejector to slide out. Same when putting each one back - use the clamp to compress the spring and hold it all in place, pop the cam in and I'm all set.
Thoughts (apart from MTFU, of course)?
