Straight pull AKMS if you really want to be correct but yeah, really happy with it.

If anyone fancies one I recommend snapping them up as the combination of Russian sanctions cutting off their manufacturers and Brexit turning off the East European ones means it's unlikely we'll be able to get them again for the foreseeable future.

I thought it was a 22LR copy until I saw the centrefire cartridges in the bottom of the pic.

Would definitely create a few smiles if you brought it out on a deer hunting trip wink

Welcome to the club, I bought an AKMS last year and it's great fun. I took it to the range last week for the open day and one of the visitors had a quick go and managed to cloverleaf the first 3 rounds. I really must work on my sight picture because he put me to shame. I have been toying with the idea of fitting a POSP scope but haven't quite worked out if I will need to remove the folding stock to slide the scope on to the rail.

I'm not sure tbh, I know I was told I needed a low profile scope rail if I wanted one to clear the under-folder. Perhaps you can rock the scopes onto the low profile rails rather than slide?

I'm looking for a PBS-1 suppressor for mine now, really hard to find but I'd rather something authentic than an aftermarket one.

So one of the worst performing police areas, Lincolnshire [from application to licence] is now saying they will require a doctors report for all applicants and renewals.

http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-lincolnshire-...

ETA: It appears this has been discussed with the LMC and agreed at a fee of £40-45 incl VAT for the report. [LMC = Lincolnshire Medical Council]. Like the bit about saving lives! https://www.lincslmc.co.uk/firearmschangetolmcadvi...

It will be interesting how all the other areas react

They can say what they like but are bound by HO advice and rules, which is to issue a license if nothing is heard from the GP.

Cops follow the rules, they don`t make them, much as they like to think so.

People bending over to their demands never helps though.

Strictly speaking that's true but we all know forces make up their own rules and just make life difficult if they're not followed. Not all FAC applicants will understand or even want to exercise their rights, so it's just another way the Police are trying to limit firearm ownership using a back door method.

Which is why they should not be getting away with it.

Make them work hard to take your firearms from you.

My understanding is its a national rule change not just force level. Expect an updated version of the guidance document at some point.

Hold on, these are Home Office PROPOSALS, which are being implemented by Lincolnshire from today.

Proposals are just that, so surely this is just one force taking it on themselves to introduce new restrictions before any consultation has taken place?

Police Scotland also implemented them last year sometime IIRC.

So.... Spring is here, things are growing and it's that time of year to get our and bash some bunnies. Permissions all surveyed, farmers spoken with to find out what needs doing and where, kit all dusted off and ready.

I have been using a Sako Finnfire .22LR with a mixture of Winchester subs and HV's, basic Bushnell 3-9 x 40, Harris Bipod & scope mounted Clulite rechargeable torch and it has always served me well. I have no intentions of changing, however have been tempted by the .17HMR's flatter trajectory and distance but would really miss the silence of the subs.

Anyone else getting ready for the bunnies?

Looks like the govt are rushing the new knife laws in and putting the "rapid fire" rifles in the bill too. Its not getting its own debate to its all or nothing so its clearly going to get voted in.

I just cant see how this can be allowed as a democratic process to include firearms in knife laws.

All this recent media coverage on knife crime is clearly being done to make 100% sure it goes through without question.

What a mad mad country we live in!

Do you have any further info/link on this? I had a quick Google and couldn't see firearms mentioned?
