The PH Gun Cabinet - Shooting Matters

I'm thinking that increasing the budget will be needed to get something new (particularly as I need a fairly long stock - 15 1/2 - which appear hard to find). The "used" prices for the Pralello are not far off new, so they don't look like they lose much value.
The Beretta looks lovely. Does anyone have a view of William Powell guns (https://www.williampowell.com/gunroom/guns-for-sale/side-by-sides/the-marquis/) ?
get the beretta, if you go to someone like avalon guns you will get a banging discount from the RRP. The Beretta looks lovely. Does anyone have a view of William Powell guns (https://www.williampowell.com/gunroom/guns-for-sale/side-by-sides/the-marquis/) ?

What do you think I should be paying?

I would be very grateful for some guidance as to a suitable mid-range shotgun, please. Mixture of game and clays (mostly game).
I am looking for a 12-bore side by side, budget around £1,500-2k. Local gun-shop recommended something like a AYA No.4 boxlock but prices seem to vary significantly. Are there any other suggestions? Will probably be used for 4-5 days a year.
Thanks in advance.

I use my AYA No.53 (like the No.2 Sidelock but with some extra goodies) as my go-to gun, fantastic gun and always draws attention.
After my regular Clay shoot on Sunday a number of people wanted to try it, all commented on how instinctive it was to shoot and all managed to break clays with it. I bought it around Christmas and have already put 800+ cartridges through it!

I'm with you Will...if a SxS is what you want go and find one that fits and you like..I have two classic Browning OU's for clay's but had to scratch the itch of a SxS for some clay busting too. My SxS is not ideal some would say at 3/4 and full choke but it fits, is pretty and smashes clay's with ease.. Here she is..
buy one and have fun...
cheers Pete
Very nice, but I won't buy a hammer shotgun. My grandfather was killed (just before my dad was born) in a hedge crossing accident by the hammer catching on the hedge. Yes he should have unloaded it but there you go.buy one and have fun...
cheers Pete
Heads up gents, The Times have an article on "military style" weapons from the UK.
Just what we need right now.

Lefties using an event to ban stuff they don't like. What I hate about what happened in NZ, apart from killing innocent people, is it was done intentionally by the shooter to manipulate media, politicians and society, and so far it is following his script.
Most of gun owners are very law are very law abiding, because we know gun ownership isn't a right, and we don't want to give the government to make it worse for us as a group. During a confrontation you take a step back and think if I get messed up with this, there will be ramifications. If you make a threat to anyone the police take it serious and will be knocking on your door at best, or busting down your door in the middle of the night.
I have had a chat with my shooting friends on what we do if we know a gun owner who is not right, expressing views that you are worried about, and the universal answer was if it was someone you are friends with, have a quiet chat to straighten them up, if they didn't, or anyone who you don't personally know well, shop them. In the gun club situation, the self policing from my experience is effective. I don't want a nut job in my club, along with someone who doesn't follow safe handling of firearms. Personally I started shooting when I was about 10, and my dad bought me first rifle when I was about 14, a semi auto 10/22 (my dad had shot at cadets when he was young, and was pretty good, but had no interest in shooting himself). I'm not sure that was the best of idea for a kid that age as I got up to all kinds of mischief with it.
My mum took up shooting after she turned 70, retired and looking for things to do, and never shot a gun in her life, not even mine when it was in the house, she signed herself up for an open day. She really enjoyed it, didn't like shotguns as she is tiny, wasn't a fan of pistols (she doesn't live in the UK btw, but I'll work on changing her mind so I have one to shoot when I visit), but target rifles she was a dead shot and really enjoyed it. She now competes and when I call her she proudly tells me of her going up the national rankings. But the media ignore these kind of things, unless it involves a Olympic/Commonwealth games medal then they reluctantly report positive stories.

I’m not surprised by this and don’t be surprised if a lot of our own community support it. I’ve had comments about my magazine fed shotgun.Just what we need right now.

Practical shotgun is a growing sport and it’s great fun, I love it but hardly anybody is aware of it shooters included.
There will be feature on day time Tv now with journalists looking to outrage the let’s think of the children types.
Omg it looks like an AK it’s bad but my 1301 if fine and dandy.
Muppets.
Get ready for the outrage.

Oh Luton way? Very close to me, thank you. https://springviewranges.co.uk/
I've got the paperwork in on a Weatherby Vanguard S2 Sporter in .270, standard blued 24" barrel which has the muzzle threaded ex-factory. Anyone know what would be a good suppressor to hang on it (assuming I get that approved also)?
