Hello everyone,

First post here (first post for some time anywhere!)

I'm looking for advice on how to sell a shotgun. Gun dealers don't seem to be interested in buying guns for stock. I've tried Guntrader, and Gunstar, but no bites at all.

It's a Beretta Essential O/U, that I bought used a few years ago to take up clay shooting with my son. My son as gone off to university, and we've lost interest in shooting.

I managed to sell my son's 20 bore Webley & Scott through the shooting club, but I'm stuck with the Beretta, which hasn't been used for a couple of years. It's a standard, "beginner level" gun in very good condition, that I thought would be easy to sell.

I'd appreciate any suggestions!
Let's take a look at the advert?

Lantac are starting to do 9mm ARs (SP) for the UK which is tempting to say the least for a bit of gallery rifle.
SP doesn't seem a logical choice for a gallery rifle...?

Not for comps but for those who are losing their SGC LR in 9mm they might be tempted to try one?

I wonder if lots of shooters - annoyed by Packham and Wild Justice’s antics over the General Licenses - might decide to spoil Packham’s butterfly count project by submitting thousands of crazy made up results.

Have you seen he's now trying to stop the release of game birds this month. So every commercial shoot in the country goes bust...

"". But Tom Adams, MD of the British Game Alliance said their plans are highly problematic for rural people.

“Such ludicrous ideas would be the end of shooting, a community that puts £2.5 billion back into the UK economy and creates 75,000 jobs,” he said. ""

He was on R4

He’s not anti shooting he’s just anti everything to do with shooting and if that stops shooting it’s not his fault.

I’d have liked the interviewer to ask him how much his extremely expensive nature safaris to the North Pole or wherever contribute to global warming.

Yep, I’ve seen that. And I’ve filled in his little butterfly survey as a thank you.

biggrin

I’m sure shooters from all over the country will be helping Chris with this important work. No hard feelings and all that.

Papa's got a brand new Shotgun

I have finally "upgraded" my 2yr old multichoke Baikal to a new Browning Cynergy Composite, Picked it up Friday and shot with it on Saturday

What can I say apart from what a difference from a cheap shotgun and a properly made one. It's just so nice to shoot.

Chris ttham is a pillock, nothing more needs to be said, I heard of his links to the butterfly count and immediately decided not to assist, however, the idea of stuffing up his data set does appeal.

Edited to add,

If we sent emails to the butterfly data collectors to say that we may or may not have submitted false data due to their connection to the ttham then that could cause them to lose confidence in the data collected, if any of it doesn't fit their expectations, even if it was true.

Well, here we go again.

Public consultation for new firearms laws...

Police propose too:

Increased medical checks with possibility if your GP is not willing to provide a report they *will not* issue a cert.
Financial background check
Monitoring of social media (they do that now anyway)
More detailed interviews of referees AND proposing to require a reference from your club rather than just membership.
And the last one.... proposal to contact your neighbours.

WTF.

I have gone out of my way for 20+ years to keep my firearms secret from anyone in the local area as the criminal element round here is huge. So now they are just going to knock on my neighbours, who rent so don't know me from adam and say oh the guy next door yeah he has a load of guns so next time he is on holiday you know the house will be there for the taking WTF. Lost the plot totally.

Yep, madness and proves that the lunatics have taken over the asylum.......
There was already a massive security issue with the 'red flag' at the GP 2 years ago, but the muppets in charge can't see it.

But, we all know that its all part of the chipping away to get to the stage that no members of the public will have a FAC or even a SGC.

At almost 60 I thought I would probably see out the next 15-20 years before we got to that stage, but now I'm not so sure.

If this goes through, I will even put a question mark over getting a renewal in 18 months time, as it only takes your GP to refuse to engage in the process and you are stuffed, as a few people I've seen already have been.

Wouldn't it be easier for them just to classify us as "terrorists"?
Then they could use existing legislation to persecute us.

When the guy came around and inspected me and very nice he was one of the things he said was nobody was to know, don’t tell people for exactly that reason. It gets out and you may be robbed.

Oh ps two people have lost their licences at one club i go to on extremely dodgy grounds. They are out to get them.

You'll probably find 'terrorists' has more rights than us, as they'll likely be entitled to legal aid in any legal battle against HMG/HO etc.... rolleyes

Responded to this utter madness.

If this keeps up I might have to give up the rifle and get another big lurcher.

I’ve responded.

Presumably before long a GP’s letter will be required before anyone can buy a knife...
