Looking to get a semi-auto for roost shooting, but have never had one before.

A friend let me have a go on his Franchi Affinity One, which seemed ok to me. They are well priced.
I wanted something light and not to be too worried about.

A local shop (Eastern Sporting) has quite a few to choose from. Is there anything to avoid?

I've taken my Taurus LBP to bitas and can't make the cylider go back into the frame.I removed the cylider, the crane, the star andthe cntrescrew, cleaned it all now the bugger won't go back in to the gun. Any ideas please
Carefull my Taurus had to be binned previous owner did that.

I knew it was a risk got it cheap, in taking the star out he somehow managed to damage a bushing these are not available anywhere. Tried it but teeing was always off. Gunsmith said they might be able to do something but wasn’t worth the risk.

It was scrap

Most Tauruses start off that way, to be fair.

£40 here. Still, at least it's done. SGC now applied for.

Does anyone have an opinion on the ATA Arms SP range of shotguns for a beginner? Online reviews seem really positive.

I have a KOFS Sceptre as a beginners gun and it is simply brilliant.
I've shot my whole life, so I'm no beginner, but my wife wanted to start and it's such a good gun.

Light, well made, well spec'd, pretty and good value.

They do 20g, 12g various barrel lengths and all for £495

A lot of people in the UK just think Texas is all gun loving red blooded republicans.

They don’t realise in the border areas it’s a lot democrat voting Hispanics and some cities and areas are full of dems.

It’s more complex than just gun ownership.
I don't think democrats vote in Texas but they're saying that with all the migration from the west coast , it might turn into a purple state sometime in the near future. Democrats or Republicans, Texas has a lot of good people.

Ironically this popped up on my Facebook memories yesterday - this is a small town local gun store!

I was walking my dog back before Chistmas on a private estate but with footpaths for the general public.

They were shooting pheasants to my right, off the footpath and I was transversing to the left.

As I wandered down the path it sounded like burst of rain on the leaves which puzzled me. What was actually happening was shot was draining down on me and the dog. I guess the trajectories were not worked out well in regards to the public footpath from the shooters.

I don't mind shot potentially bouncing off my head but I wouldn't like to be looking upwards at the time.

On the bright side,my pointer lurcher cross had a good time with flighty beasts landing in his Ordnance Survey "tracking" area.

The OS is not called Ordnance Survey for nothing ... smile

Attended an Olympic Trap ‘taster day’ last Sunday. Fantastic fun but very challenging! Those clays are insanely fast. Naturally I want to go back for more laugh

I found Trap a little dull, but have always fancied Helice after some Sporting......

I arranged a work event at a friends farm. Their son went a long way in shooting, representing the country at one stage I believe.
They have their own skeet towers, which the son obviously used a lot to practice. It was olympic speed.

I could not believe the difference in speed. It took me 6 clays, before I hit a single one and I am a member of a clay pigeon club smile

Skeet is always fast regardless though, the distance is short, hence a skeet gun being short and open choked.

Its a great discippline, but expensive to practice tho.

Anyone got any suggestions on how to remove some seriously hard carbon from my muzzle break?

I have tried:

Soaking in engine oil
About an hour in the ultrasonic cleaner
Soaking in butches bore shine

None have worked and I am out of options.

I am starting to think the only option is media blasting?

The carbon is 2-3mm thick in places and I even tried picks and a small brass drift and its not budging. I know, I know I should have cleaned it but it escaped my attention until I started getting weird groups..... next comp is 3 weeks away so need to get it sorted asap.

I moved into TVP area 5 weeks ago, and notified the Met of my move out of MPD and into TVP.

Not heard anything from TVP yet.
