We're heading there tomorrow, thanks for the info about CFG. I'm going to try to get a mould done regardless, but it looks like there's a couple of brands there so I'll shop around..

What's the swag situation like? Any time I've been to a trade event at the NEC (mainly through work) I've come away with bags full of free merch, mainly pens, mugs, coasters, keyrings.. laugh

Didn’t find any swag. Other than a free show guide magazine.

Reference the ear protection there must have been 4 or 5 stands there from different ear protection companies. . I looked at CFG, swatcom and one other. CFG will do 10% off if you mention the TSG 10% discount.

An awful lot of the show is devoted to optics, air rifles and clothings.

Oh I forgot to ask MB140 - were CFG etc charging to do the moulds, or were they free as part of being at the show?

Sorry I was just driving home so just got this now.

Free of charge for the moulds. £7 for registered and insured delivery. So depending on the model you choose it’s the price -Tsg 10%+£7

Went the show yesterday and I ordered some ear plugs from emtec, not heard of them before but they supply merseyside police and others so hopefully decent quality. Although now thinking about it the police would be buying on cost not quality. They seemed of similar quality to the others. It was a toss up between emtec and the plugzz as I seen another company called custom ear plugs but on checking some reviews they didn’t seem to have a great reputation.

Afternoon folks.

What’s the law and understanding about having a Temporary/ permit for Shotgun with regards purchasing cartridges?

I re-applied back in September for my licence, it all went through no problem- but I’m currently on a temporary due to the huge backlog in processing.

Firearms liaison officer told me I definitely could not purchase ammunition on a temporary license.

Attended my local clay shoot yesterday and asked a few folk (about buying) and they said it’s a bit of a grey area right now.

Any advice would be welcome.

Thanks Jim.

Basically you can hold existing stock but not buy any more on a temporary extension.

If the seller knows you just ask a mate to show his SGC, then you pay for them.

Yes OF.

Bit of a weird one this?

Been whataping my mate today who is an RFD and he says it’s all a bit odd.

I’m absolutely sure I’ve got a few good mates who shoot at the same club who will help.

I guess the club could also help, as long as I shoot the cartridges on their ground, and my existing stock isn’t touched.

After all, if I wasn’t completely following the law, I wouldn’t be showing up at a shoot with a gun.

And having the correct authority to do so.

If you manage to get some there's nothing to stop you taking them home with you.

Having to wait for a renewal is getting ridiculous, I had a ten month wait but where I bought mine from had known me for years so the y sold me some as many other shooters were in the same boat.

Shooting show was decent, pity there weren't really any freebies, as I said I've been to a few big construction and trade ones over the years and they bombard you with stuff that people were asking £20 for here laugh

But there was some cool stuff to look at, I've never been overly interested in FAC and rifles but after looking at and handling some MP5 carbine-looking .22 LR that was only £450, I think I may need to ay least have a try...

Got fitted for some Custom Fit Guards, I did look at the other brands but just went with the ones I knew best. They said April delivery... At least I saved on the mould price and got 10% off with the YouTube discount.

Only negative was the NEC food - £11 for a depressed looking cheeseburger and £3 for some water..

That’s one thing I hate about shows is the vastly inflated costs of mediocre food. Started taking my own now which I never thought I ever would.

I definitely will in the future. I didn't expect it to be cheap because what show is... But to be brutally honest it was a £3 cafeteria burger at best laugh

Jesus were really good friends with all the members of staff at our local club. Always spend a while chatting with them. No way would we be allowed to buy ammo without our certificate.

They won’t even let you go out on the ground without you handing your certificate over to them.

Likewise, I'm on first name terms with the owners and several of the staff at the place I've been buying my stuff from for years and years, and still there's no way, they'd sell me me cartridges without seeing my cert first.

You should never leave your certifcate with anybody, the ground needs to change the rules.

Show it by all means but leave it with them no. Blackpool wanted car keys or similair but they were challenged and just went to a register instead.
