Starting to get prices through for new season , and one of my synidcates have dropped their prices down from £66 a bird to £50 a bird, so i would expect prices to be cheaper for 2024
That's good news. It was starting to get a bit silly.

Diary permitting, I'd be up for Coley's and Barbury. Ladyswood (just north of M4 J18) is a nice little ground too.

I should be at Cambridge Gun Clun on 16th March with my muzzle loader hiding the clays in a cloud of smoke.

Gentlemen…. It looks like the 17th Feb is the preferred Date for the above shoot.

Let’s say meet at 10 for 10.30ish start ?

Anyone who wants to join us is more than welcome .

It’s not seriously competitive, it’s about breaking some clays and having a laugh.

If you do want to join us, just post here or drop me or Smithy a pm…..

Looking forward to meeting you all. MrsMB140 might shoot as well. It depends on the state of her back and if the new meds are working.

Be a good laugh based on our last outing for sure.

I don't post in this section often, just read it.

But have to share this little beauty that I've picked up for just £20.

I was recently looking at getting my CC back but the cost of the ammo is ridiculous now. When I stopped about 12 years ago, 200 round of .308 was £190. Now I've seen prices around the £400 mark!

Not seen 308W that expensive yet!

Most expensive I've seen is GGG 308W Match ammo at £300 for 200rds, but other stuff can be had for around £260-280 for 200 rds for match grade.

Even reloading your own isn't that cheap now, primer prices are through the roof, if you can find any.

You can thank Russian for that, as more and more European commercial ammo producers are now producing ammo for Ukraine now and not for commercial sale.

On top of that, range fees have also risen significantly last year as well......a lot of clubs will likely fold in the next few years as they will be financially unviable.

I was using American eagle. And the supplier I was looking at had even sold out!

Yep, Bisley is becoming more expensive and when I last went, they brought in a rule saying you had to do a health and safety course there. So that was more cost on top.

That's a cool bit of history mate! Any plans for it? Does it fire?

Fully working condition, very tarnished, but no rust, was used as a rabbit gun until recently, no idea what I'll use it for, but couldn't say no at that price.

For the purpose of discussion.....Cartridge misfires

My 3 month old 694 has now had 4 misfires, using Hull Compx, Ive also heard folks having similar issues with Superfast as well.

Is it likely to be an issue with me or just cheap percussion caps at Hull ?

I would say its likely duff Hull cartridges...which seem to have been common from about 12 months ago.

I've had similar with Hull Superfast. Got one more slab to finish off, and I'll be changing brand.

Easiest way to see is try other brands and see if you still get misfires?

Yes, will be trying some more Gamebore next, and bought a box of Olympic blues today.

We have the PH meet at Kibworth next Satruday, so we will try the duff ones on different guns......
