At last - he finally claims a big one. 'Mr 2nd place' wins the World Championship Road Race. I hope his team boss is pleased.....

Delighted for Sagan, its been a few years snce the world champion was actually the best rider in the field... no disrespect to Rui Costa or Kwaitatoski but they just werent the best riders of that year, they were the best on the day and whilst I appreciate thats what the worlds are about, its nice to see that a rider like Sagan is rewarded. Both elite races were edge of the seat stuff but Sagan pips it for excitement.

I'm really pleased Sagan got it too. As much as I can't stand the format for the 'Worlds' it certainly went to a deserved winner; who has been very consistent throughout the cycling season.

Great touch by him to bring the refugee crisis to the attention of the masses. Class.

I would have liked Tom D to have been there on the podium too, he entertained us so much the the Vuelta.

I didn't see Fabian Can. was he not in it?

Great win by Sagan in the WC.

Next up is Il Lombardia at the weekend; the Race of the Falling Leaves.

If they're riding I'd love to see Dan Martin or Nico Roche win.

OK - wasn't sure as he did start the Vuelta but then pulled out.

So Cav has officially gone to MTN-Qhubeka

Pro-continental team? Cant help wondering if this is genius or idiocy. No guaranteed big races, but everyone will invite them because they want Cavendish.

I hadn't seen it, but knew he won.. Watched it last night, still got excited when he went clear, and punched the air when he crossed the line.

MTN have made a good impression this season in the World Tour races, so I'm sure Team Dimension Data will get the invites to the Grand Tours with Cavendish (and Eisel and Renshaw) on board. A chance to have a team fully focused around Cav again too.

and don't forget Matt Brammier too!

That said a line up of Mark Renshaw, Edvald Boasson-Hagen, Tyler Farrar, Cummings, Brammier and Eisel sounds like a stable of nags nowadays.

Looks like a HTC/Columbia High Road reunion; Cavendish, Eisel, Renshaw, Boasson-Hagen, Ciolek, Goss, etc 3 of whom have won Milan-Sanremo.

Just been to David Millar's book launch event in Bath, hosted by Mr B's Emporium with interview by Richard Moore. A great evening with an interesting discussion and Q&A afterwards. Millar even managed to sign books with his broken arm and we all got to sign his cast hehe
