Really enjoying the Tour of Spain, every stage has been exciting. Even today's 'transitional' stage has got over 3,500m of climbing! This weekend promises to be epic. The Vuelta never fails to deliver, Tour route planners take note.

Sick of seeing Valverde though!

3 GTs on the trot and always at or near the front? Sooner he goes the better! In fact maybe after his near banning and then subsequent actual ban. I don't think should be anywhere near a bike!

At least Contador and Froome have off days!

Looked fairly comfortable to me. Covered all of Quintana's attacks without any drama. I think he has more in the tank for the later mountain stages, and assuming he can take a good chunk of time in the TT I quite fancy him for the tour win.

Huge stage today. Haven't seen any of it but looks like a serious tactical error.

It's been a long time since Sky got a stage so wrong.

Tour of Britain on now.

WHY ITV4

WHY!

Why did you employ Huw sodding Porter! A man devoid of any ability to read a race. And IIRC he retired years ago, but like Murray Walker just couldn't stay away! And Brian Smith who is the equivalent of Brown paint

I know Ned and Dave are on the Vuelta. I know Phil and Paul are st. But there are other options! Rob Hatch, Declan Quigley. Matt Stevens. Daniel Lloyd. Even McCrossan is probably available!

Gonna be a tough to follow this week...

He did look strong yesterday but today he looked very tired. Another cracking stage of the vuelta, full of twists and turns. NQ looked utterly in control today.

Seriously bad day for sky, the majority of the team didn't make it in time from the cut off point. However, they were saved by the 60% rule.

Not sure what the other person's gripe is with valverde? Can't be easy doing 3 GT'S in a row.

He's an extremely consistent performer - rare that he has an off day.

I wonder if the SKY train has rested well last night. Quintana must have worked hard yesterday especially after Saturdays efforts so maybe today might see a counter attack. How much more entertaining has the Vuelta been than the TDF . 6 days to go and still some twists and turns left to come.

More than any other sportsman i can think of, Cav really has taken "you're only singing when you're winning" and made it a way of life...

It's been one of the best grand tours I've seen in many years - totally full of surprises and a proper GC battle. Looks to be in favour of NQ now but I still wouldn't discount Froome. Sky have to attack in the next few stages, I wonder how muc time Froome makes over NQ in the time trial?

I reckon AC may sneak a 3rd place ahead of Chaves, that said Chaves finished strongly the other day.

It's a real shame AC lost so much time at the beginning and fell off a few times, had that not been the case we may have had a 3 way battle for the GC.

The tour of Britain came past my house earlier, great to see them close up. Very well organised/marshalled in closing the road too. My son took this pic of Wiggins on his phone :-)

I'm thinking of going to Haytor on Friday to watch the end of the stage. Never having been to a stage before, is it an arse to get to by car with the road closures? How early should I aim to get there, I'll have my kids with me, is there stuff put on to entertain there (other than usual moor life).
Cheers.
