Should Landa have been told to slow down if Doumalans group slowed down?
Landa is 40 or so minutes down and not a threat to GC....

With a "Granfondo" as your username I would have thought you would understand a bit more about professional cycling.
Maybe your having a bad day or on your period but if you look closely you will see the ? Not a ! .

This is going to make for an interesting ITT stage. I'm still hoping Dumoulin will take it. I'd quite like Pinot to displace Nibali on the podium too but that's largely because I have the former in my Velogames squad!

Dream result: dumolain win, quintNa overcook a downhill and crash yet again, pinaut to beat nibbles by 20s and take the place.

Silly, until this race I was a quintana fan.

Great race and the right result, if Quintana and nibbles couldn't put enough time on dumoulin ahead of that TT they deserved to lose. Can't believe Movistar have lost another GT by attacking too late in the race.

I'm so pleased for Dumoulin. I'm also quite glad Quintana didn't win it. I know sport is sport, but I'm not at all impressed by the way he and Movistar race. Especially when they pressed on when Tom was popping one out in the bushes.

Wonder how GT would have done if he hadn't been taken out. I am very happy for TD nice to have another name as a good GC rider.

Glad TD won.

Slightly disappointed in the way Nibali and Quintana behaved. I know it's sport.

But attacking when someone has a piss is not the way to win. If he falter's or has a mechanical, then fair enough.

I daresay in future TD will be pissing on the bike! laugh

Yep, I was really happy TD won, really disappointed with Nibbles, that Katousha rider and the smirking Quintana.

What's worse - drug cheats or bad sportsmen who go against the status quo to get an advantage? I was disappointed that the commissionaires didn't levy some fines for that.

I saw "comfort break" and assumed Number1

Didn't he go before he left the hotel? That's what you tell kids isn't it laugh

Drug cheats.

VN and NQ didn't break any rules. So I cant see any reason to fine them.

Comparing a drug cheat to someone not waiting for another rider taking a dump...get a grip ffs.

Why not? Both are cheating. Both do it deliberately to gain an advantage.

(Yes, I am really annoyed by their antics, does it show?)

Yes I can tell you're annoyed, as it appears to have clouded your judgement. Of course in reality there's no comparison.

To clarify, I believe TD was attacked twice whilst taking a natural break. Once whilst he needed an urgent number 2, this is where his rivals cut his lead right down. The second time he went for pee and again his rivals carried on at speed.

He then had to work hard again to catch up.

Maybe they should just race unless something very very bad happens. At least it will clear up any grey areas.

Yes it was wasn't very 'sportsman' like but at the end of a day it's a race!!

Also agree the drugs cheats are worse. These people that race on through others misfortune are opportunistic.

Drugs cheats are all pre conceived cheaters looking to gain an unfair advantage.

showing a lack of respect for the Race leader used to be such a no no. . I even remember Armstrong effectively neutralising a Race over an incident. In the end the right man won and it will not have gone un-noticed that Moviestar did what they did and I suspect a reciprocal gesture will occur in the TDF.

Well if you think TD did that earlier on in the race so Quintana didn't suffer with a mechanical, how is he repaid?

What gets me more is Quintana was smirking about it in the interviews. Nibbles is a petulant child, we all know that, but I expected more from Quintana.

Do the peleton laws need to be written down? Or will the riders sort themselves out, and some for of payback occur later?
