Without doubt the best stage I've ever watched and it's not over yet.
Got to be up there with one of the very best. Some truly astonishing riding!

I can’t believe that 3 days ago I was hovering over a button that had Froome at 9/1! That’s an incredible stage win.

Way too early to say that with tomorrow coming up - or are you meaning since he is pink currently? He dropped time the day after Zoncolan.

But amazing performance by him today. He said his legs still feel good too, so if that is true then is somewhat ominous for Tom. Hope he's not on drugs - I presume he will be extensively tested today after a result like that! Yates must be absolutely gutted.

OK, maybe a bit premature, but with a 40s lead, and his team in front of him, I can't see Tom pulling that back tomorrow.

Pretty sure Froome is the most tested athlete on the planet - he'll be pissing in another cup very shortly.

This is the best Grand Tour I can remember. Just wow. Backed Froome at 48-1 two days ago, though cashed in too early yesterday. I genuinely don’t care though as the racing on show is incredible.

Sky absolutely bossed it today then Froome surprised everybody with an 80km break on the queen stage of the Giro.

Only Dumoulin is within 4 minutes of him, all Sky have to do tomorrow is mark Dumoulin and keep Froome safe, it's up to Sunweb to make something of it now and I don't think they have the firepower to do it.

Yep... the SKY train will be in full force tomorrow... fast and steady pace from the start, sucking what energy Dumoulin has left.

Of course it's not likely, but who would have predicted Yates time in the overall race today even just 2 days ago or so? Froome is obviously more proven as a leader, and has the Sky train. But if he gave everything today it could possibly result in another implosion in the worst case (for him). Not likely, but way too early to say he has all 3 GTs.

hehe

The best bit about that oft mooted position from Lance was that he wasn't even the most tested American athlete with the surname Armstrong...

You have to feel for him, 13 days in the maglia rosa and a sterling effort until yesterday.

He was grinding away at the foot of the Finestre and looked like he just couldn't summon the energy to get ontop of the gear then as soon as Sky hit the front and upped the pace it was like he was pedalling backwards.

My point wasn't that he's clean (if you read my other posts you'll see I'm not naive enough to think they are 100% clean), only that he gets tested a lot smile
