Froome has done multiple exiting moves to win his various grand tours:
1: 85km solo escape in giro 2018
2: 2016 his tope tube attack
3: 2016 team pursuit escape on a flat stage
4: 2013 Cross wind attack on a flat stage
5: 2013 Super cadence "track attack" from a sitting position on Ventoux
Froome might have started as somebody fixated on a power meter attacks but he matured into a very effective opportunist.
This takes nothing away from S Yates who's caution to the wind attacks have lit up the GT's this year.
they are completely different riders. Froome has a massive back up team and tacticians as well as a team that has two or three potential GT winners in it. Yates is a real bike Racer and it probably cost him his Giro as he ran out of legs and gifted Froome.1: 85km solo escape in giro 2018

Thomas is more likely to attack on instinct but Froome is the perfect GT rider measuring each of his efforts to perfection.

Well of all the british success in grand tours, yates winning the Vuelta is probably my favourite.
He does have that part of him that just wants to race flat out. Yes it's probably not the most efficient tactic but it's makes him an exciting rider to watch.
I always thought contador was an exciting rider to watch, he lit up many races - maybe yates is that kind of rider
Would be amazing if Adam picked up a grand tour win as well.

These young men are really something special. They have to train between races they travel stay in Hotels week after week they crash and get back on their bikes bloody but unbowed I don't know how they can keep going week after week. The season now goes on much longer and the break is so much shorter. Whatever they get paid it isn't enough

Alaphilippe for me. Looks a brute of a course though, can’t wait.
Though whilst on holiday in Tuscany this week, took a day trip to Pontedera to see Moscon take the Giro del Toscana and he looked super strong.
I’m really exicited that Sky signed Eddie Dunbar and in his first week was instrumental in both Moscon’s victories, destroying the group on the climb and delivering him armchair-like to the finale. When he was only 16 or 17 Paddy Power were already taking bets on him winning the Tour. Did anyone see Rachel Atherton win the Womens Downhill MTB. They had a Helmet Cam on her run and I am stunned by how good she is. It not something I have seen much of maybe the Camera angle gave you a better appreciation of the skill levels but they are absolutely Insane and Talented in equal measures.

Saw it live, but not seen the headcam view. Was crazy, taking 10 seconds out of the rest.Gassing Station | Sports | Top of Page | What's New | My Stuff
